Can someone explain to me how the club can have two great runs in the FA cup, play against league opposition in front of several large gates - and yet make no money from them? Where did the cash go?

They did make money, it's just masked by the otherwise gargantuan loss the club has made in the 2015 and 2016 accounts. Expect this year (2017) to be noticeably worse in terms of financial performance.
Just because we had a cup run doesn't mean we are suddenly a going concern...

3 years at Aggborough doesn't help. £2,000 a game to play there if I recall correctly? That's £126,000 just for league games. I'd say the cup runs saved us going broke several years ago.

Very good point harley, but the only "big" money made was from the Scunthorpe games (including TV money) - the Coventry and Sheffield games would not have brought in that much. BTW our hosts Bromsgrove Sporting are having a good cup run themselves (in the FA Vase) I see. They had 3,349 on Victoria Park for Saturdays game against Cleethorpes, thats very close to the 3,500 capcity. I bet its been a few years since they got a crowd like that? Although looking back to when Bromsgrove Rovers were in the top conference division they regularly got crowds of over 3,000 and one or two over 4,000. Anyway, well done Bromsgrove, I hope you make it to Wembley.
