HT 0-0. Great performance. Was worried that after this week, heads would be down. Full commitment.

Just gave away a stupid goal. Both defenders left the ball for Halifax to tap in

Penalty 2-1. Tyler gets sent off for trying to get the ball from the keeper. Yellow cards are 4 each

I think it's 5-4 yellows to Halifax now

OK so the ref has made this game all about himself. Lost track of red and yellows and strange decisions

A battling performance. Good effort by players considering heads could be down & heart not quite in it with off field problems. To be honest there wasn't a lot between the teams. First goal was always going to be vital. After the "After you Claude" hesitation for the first goal it was always going to be hard. We were undecided for the second goal if the linesman flagged for foul/offside or not but referee decided it was a goal. As for Tyler's sending off it was one the strangest decisions I've seen in 30+ years watching City. Even the Halifax official twitter feed posted that Tyler was sent off for scoring a penalty.

A committed and battling effort from all the players. Jordan Murphy played on his own up front, and ran non stop. Whilst he's never going to score many, to his credit he gave his all. It was also good to see Tom Sharpe return. A draw would have been fair, although when you're at the bottom, you just don't get the run of the ball. However, we gave away yet another freebie of a goal, and then yet another red card. Tyler Weir scores the penalty to get us back in it, then aggressively pushes over their keeper as he goes to retrieve the ball out of the back of the net ! A thoroughly brainless lack of discipline which has cost us yet again. Yet another self inflicted mistake.
I dread to think of how many freebie goals we've given away this season, and the number of red cards. These repeated errors and our failure to learn from them, are exactly why we're where we are in the table tonight, a relegation place. As for the ref, he was as good or as bad for both sides, it's just that with our basic lack of game management, we just take longer to recognise it than the opposition.
Our bench was made up of loanee Chay Scrivens and 3 youth players. Whilst Gater, Connor Hughes and Steele are injured, Bates, Olukanmi, Morris and Craig are on loan, where were Gallinagh, Hutchison and Chambers ?

A fellow supporter told me that all three were injured.
I'm at a loss to understand why none of the players who are out on loan with experience at our level are frozen out in favour of youth team players. I presume it's because we would have to pay them even if they sit the bench?

I think that your presumption is correct.

Thought we played well today, battling performance, we didn't give in and we were always in the game, even though we didn't look like scoring very often. I really don't understand why we have 2 players out on loan either, who should be now our 2 'main strikers. The only reason I can think of why they are not being recalled is that the other teams are paying their wages, so we won't bring them back as we can't afford to.
As for the sending off, it was a yellow card offence. You can't shove another player to the ground like Tyler did in any circumstance so I don't understand why people thought it wasn't a yellow. Overall I thought the ref was crap, but this yellow was correct.
And as for the linesman up the other end on their second goal, he was flagging to indicate it was a goal, as it had hit the bar and come down, obviously over the line, Even though it did hit the net anyway on the second bounce up, I think it confused everyone. The linesman just set off a bit early flagging before it had hit the net on the second bounce up.
Overall encouraging general play, but we just won't score goals period. Looking increasingly likely we will be relegated anyway, which is what the board want anyway

TBH I didn't see him flag but mate said he did but fair enough.
Just those few mins of lack of concentration cost us but been a problem for a while but considering they are all up for sale the heads didn't drop & they stuck at it well I thought.

Unfortunately we're in the habit of giving away sloppy goals. Not just the first Halifax goal but in recent weeks, Gloucester's first 2 goals were gifts although we were awful that day and letting Bradford score in the 96th minute a few weeks ago. These are valuable points thrown away.Yesterday was another lost point because we equal to Halifax and deserved a draw. There was plenty of effort yesterday but we certainly need a recognised striker. There are a few winnable games coming up so let's not throw the towel in yet although it's looking even more of an uphill struggle to stay up.

Att 572 .A couple of hundred Shaymen I'm sure home support will get less and less as the season draws to an end. Was the game segregated? I was at Burnley v Lincoln City yesterday - what a game! So happy for all the Lincoln fans there.

There isn't a lot of difference between (most) of the top teams in this league and (most) the bottom teams. Sides can usually be separated by that little bit of quality up front, or a mistake at the wrong time a the back.
Unfortunately we have let our little bit of quality go, and we are continuing to make errors at the back, which has been an awful habit this season. In fact I can't remember a season where we have actually gifted so many goals away, the first game of the season against Harrogate really set the tone.

Yes quite about the goal against Harrogate ,and then the worst was against BPA gifting them 3 points. Things could have been looking a lot better. Never mind the lads played well and there are still 12 games to be played, so all hope is not lost

Agree with all the comments above: what a howler the first goal was: a real "After you Claude" as someone has already said above. But I was heartened by the effort all the players put in. After my comments about Ebby Nelson-Addy he really put in a good shift playing out of position. We need a striker, although in his post-match interview Snapper did suggest he would address the problem during the week (don't know how!).
As for the comment above to the effect that I think that's a bit unfair. All Tyler did was, what any player would have done if he sensed that we might just be back in with a chance, want to get on with the game: I didn't see the goalie punished for hanging on to the ball in an effort to waste time.
The Altrincham game next Saturday now takes on a real 6-pointer dimension.
