Mark Owen? As far as I know he's had no managerial experience and now is not the right time to experiment. That's an interesting comment Tim, What is it time for?

We should! But the numpties come along here, spout a few garbage platitudes, insist that we are wrong for not "supporting the lads" and soon disappear, and those of us thick skinned enough to take the flak, and believe in what we believe in, we keep going! Where were they when we needed them supporting BDS? nowhere to be seen! As one of the people who was threatened with being taken to the High Court in London by David Hallmark if I didn't shut up, I can assure you that I am still here. No idea which rock he is under, If you are reading this, you know where I am.

Mark Owen? As far as I know he's had no managerial experience and now is not the right time to experiment. Given the plight that the Club is in and with no future beyond 2/3 years according to the Chairman, I would think this is exactly the time to experiment. Particularly with Mark Owen's skill in developing young players and with little money in the pot no one is going to be able to attract decent players to WCFC. Whether Mark would be interested in working for the current Board would be a question for him.

If Mark Owen, or anyone else, has even a tiny amount of talent I'd hate to think it was wasted working for this board.

We also shouldn't overlook the quality of football that Carl's teams often played. I recall the Barton, Rooney eras when we were solid, workmanlike sides. But not much flair.
The pacy, one touch football we often saw under Heeley (and I would think strongly influenced by Matt Gardiner) was at times a joy to watch.

Barton's sides were the same at burton hard working without much flair

A fine tribute from Julian Pugh. Carl's integrity, enthusiasm and honesty shone through as a player, and were attributes he brought to his manager's role. We all owe him our respect.

Although Carl was one of the few that I thoroughly enjoyed working with on the Board, for the same qualities that he showed as a player and manager, I wish he'd never mixed the two. Cloughie was right, dressing room and Boardroom should be kept apart
