The new pool is due to open tomorrow, and just look at the target figures in term of visits - 500,000 visits per year! That equates to over 1300 visits for every day of the year! This isn't a play pool, this is a serious sports facility serving the West Midlands up to the highest level of short course swimming, which is fantastic for Worcester and enhances the status of Perdiswell as a sporting hub. The proposed football ground will dovetail very neatly into this sporting hub, without adding greatly to the visitor footprint - if we estimate 25,000 visits for football, and double that for non-football community usage, you've still only got around 130 visits per day, a tenth of the swimming pool targets. These figures also make it very difficult for objectors to put up the argument of traffic, congestion, noise etc. after all, if they find it acceptable for an additional 500,000 visits to the site in a year, why object to another scheme adding only one tenth of that number? www.worcesternews.co.uk/newS/15006580.PICTURES__Splash__Look_inside_Worcester__39_s_new___10_5m_swimming_pool_24_hours_before_the_doors_open/?ref=rss
