I think its about time one of our genuine supporters got a mention , and a bit of credit for the efforts he makes week in, week out, to make sure games happen for the rest of us. The Verner (Kev Preece) might not travel to away games to cheer on the lads, but my God if you knew the amount of work he does, the amount of hassle he gets from all sides, but without Kev, games wouldn't happen. Kev did a lot of the work to get us to Bromsgrove, and got no credit for his efforts. I work with Kev on the Supporters Trust Board, and he's one of the Directors who has really stepped up to the plate, he takes on tasks, and he delivers them. Some can talk the talk, Kev walks the walk! Well done mate - always proud to be working alongside you.

Not a bad gate, although I thought it would be closer to 2,000. How many of the 1879 were City fans? We went to AFC Fylde v Chorley - a great Lancs derby - gate around 3,800 (of which 1,000+ were Chorley fans). A great win for Chorley - which must have pissed off the Kiddy fans!

On the basis that Harriers had 1000 tickets, and sold them all, that leaves 879 bought by City fans or neutrals

The fact that it was all ticket reduced the crowd by a third I would estimate. It was only 121 tickets short of capacity. Yes sorry what i meant was that i think it would have been a 3k gate if it wasnt all ticket

In discussing why the attendance figures are so low for city fans, no one has taken into account those of us who won't go to another "home" game as long as this board is in charge. I don't care if they play Chelsea or Kempsey, I won't pass a penny to Hampson and co.

A well earned point with Carl getting the tactics right to keep the Harriers at bay, with good performances from Cieron and Jordon Keane. I thought Lee Hughes was lucky to stay on the pitch with him up to his antics throughout the game, but he was our only hope of scoring and went close with one effort. I am surprised no one has reported that a mob of Harriers hooligans tried to enter the exit gates around five minutes before full time, the stewards had to lock the gate to keep them out until the police moved them on. A big well done to the stewards involved as they stopped a nasty situation arising, so much for friendly rivalry. Only selling 879 tickets for a boxing day game against Kidderminster Harriers is alarming situation and shows the lack of interest in the club from the sporting public of Worcester, I never see anything from our chairman on a way forward for the club in the present or the future.

Our support of only 879 on a Boxing day against one of our local rivals is indeed very poor. As long as the away game at Kiddy remains on New Years Day[and not frozen off]I would expect us to have about 800 fans at the game.I would be surprised if the attendance for this fixture to be any more than 2500.

Don't forget Woodenose, the original allocation was 1200 not 1000 which doesn't make it look so good. As for the remainder of our home games, the most we'll get will be about 600,plus however many the visitors bring. If we have a poor run of form it could well be less.

I'm not clear as to what point you're trying to make? 500-600 is what we managed to attract most of the time we were at Aggborough, sometimes it was more like 400. I agree with the view that 879 was a decent turnout. I've no idea how many City fans will show up at Aggborough but surely 300-400 would be pretty good going?

The assumption appears to be that the 879 were City fans, but I suspect there was a slight interest from 'neutrals' (i.e. Bromsgrove folk) and, no doubt, a few Kiddy fans who would easily have obtained 'Worcester' tickets.
I can't believe there was a surge of enthusiasm to travel to Bromsgrove on Boxing Day for a match - even though the opposition was KHFC - so the probable following was nearer 600 as mentioned.
I also can't see many travelling to Aggy on NY day either, based on public transport being virtually non-existent on the day, and I may well not go (as a personal protest for 'flash' Gordon upping the ground rental) and instead donate the entrance fee to the 'Kids to Kiddy' sponsored walk.
Dodger.

I'm expecting us to take 550-600 on NYD, Especially with Villa, Blues, WBA, Wolves and Walsall all without games, A fair few bandwagon fans will jump on the pay on the gate arrangement, Which could make it more likely for trouble and pyro.
Personally think we will win it 2-1 or 1-0.

City Spur I am sad to hear about you being attacked on the Bromsgrove High Street after the game which left a 13 year old frightened, I am not surprised and many more may have been assaulted after the game. I posted about the Harriers mob who tried to get in the home end through the exit gates before the end of the game. I was told by Phil who helps run the away travel that the stewards have had to lock the gates to keep them out and Police had been called and they moved them on and waited on the high Street for anyone who had Worcester City colours on. Where was the Police to monitor this mob ?. Train times to Kidderminster are 11.14 , 12.20 , 13.26 , 14.26 from Worcester Foregate Street 20 minutes journey time, the return times are 16.57, 17.33. 17.57, 18.57 return £6.30 information from National Rail Enquires. My advice would be stop in a large group on the way back to the station in case anything kicks off. No match day arrangements have released which is poor, away supporters are normally allowed in the Harriers social club , but not sure if this is the case for the Worcester game. Can Verner (Kev) confirm if this is the case or comment on the Harriers mob who tried to enter the home end and the prompt actions of the stewards. Enjoy the game and Happy New Year to you all.

I did not attend on Boxing Day because for me, Christmas is about family and even WCFC take second place to that. I'm probably not the only regular supporter who feels this way.
The game on New Years Day may be the first NYD game I have missed for a few years. I am just finding it difficult to summon up entheusiasm when the club is dying and the Board appear to have no plan to address the situation, Perdiswell seems to be further away from happening than ever and nobody outside the Supporters Trust seem to care. Again, I am probably not the only person who feels this way.

What can I say....unfortunately these morons look like they were in Bromsgrove to simply cause trouble and not watch the football ! Attacking people for wearing a badge is moronic, disgusting and many other words I will not use on here. I would like a description of these thugs so I can pass onto Police. I believe looking at pictures on social media that we can identify them. You get a feeling from some posts that there was the potential for idiots and unfortunately for some I have taken screenshots of Kidderminster supporters facebook pages and comments they made on the lead up to the game, some of which I had already passed onto the Police, if any of these can be identified then it will be top stuff. On the stewards and boxing day.....we did the best possible job we could under the circumstances, our agency stewards didnt turn up leaving us very much under staffed and I think the team did very well considering, its even more of a shame that once out of the stadium we had no control over matters on the high street and not all of our supporters arrive home safely. My advice to anyone going on NYD is to stay in groups and stay away from wearing club colours or the badge. I have informed the Police of these attacks and hopefully a larger Police presence will be seen outside the stadium and on the lead upto the train station.

Thanks Kev for the update on stewarding in the ground on the day and its good advice you are giving for our visit to Aggborough on new years day. Its a sad state of affairs when we are advised not to wear our colours to a local non league derby, you would think we were playing Millwall not Kidderminster Harriers.

I have informed the Police of these attacks and hopefully a larger Police presence will be seen outside the stadium and on the lead upto the train station. This is one of the saddest posts I've read on here , and a very very sad indictment as to what has become of football, and in this case bloody 6th tier football!! I don't do groups, I don't hang around in a pack, I'm an individual, and if I choose to wear my teams colours, I wear my teams colours, or not! My choice! After all, it's nothing more than a f**k**g football match, and we watch and we go home after and have a cup of tea and moan to the wife (who switched off from it years ago). When advice is being given to "Stay safe and don't go out alone" to a meaningless non-league football match, that's the time when I, and many others, say "I've got a million other things to do on a New Years Day now!" I don't get it, I just don't get it! And I know I've said this before, and thatfatbloke or whoever he was got a bit snotty, but why is it only football?? How come I can go to a top tier rugby league game in Cas (local derby) or to the Pie Eaters (is there a bigger rivalry? and everyone "hates" both of us!) in my Leeds Rhinos top, and not only go to the game on my own, but walk round the town centres on my own day or night, and enjoy a bit of friendly banter? And before anyone starts saying "poshboy sports" no, this is league, unlike football, it wasn't formed on the sports fields of Rugby and Eton, followed by Rugby Union, this is the real working class, working mans game, formed because the working men of the North couldn't get time off work to play rugby without losing a days pay, or even their job. This is rough arsed Northern sport, supported vociferously by rough arsed Northerners! Yes there's the odd little flare up, but its simply not tolerated by anyone in or out of the ground, and I've seen a HKR fan get thrown out of their ground by his own fans! He felt a right t**t!! I was going to go on Sunday, even though my interest level in the football club is pretty low, for all the reasons Mark gives. Plus there's a possibility that VOR might enter the ground, and that would be something to see!! However, it no longer sounds all that appetizing really.

Sutton v Bromley for me.I'm not worried about trouble but am finding it very difficult to summon up enthusiasm for City with the likelihood of a move to Sixways looming. This upsets me a very great deal but that's the way it is I'm afraid.City will always be where my heart is but not my actual person very much any mode!
