Congratulations to them. They've managed the progression very well. Retention of the ground by the Council was key. After that last lot of shysters finally left them , it just goes to show what community minded volunteers can do. Add to that renewed fan support, and an encouraging Council, and you then get a playing budget which dwarfs their competition. They spent it well, on getting players better than that standard to ensure promotion, such as Symmo. Next season will be more of a test for them mind, but well done to them.

Quite rightly , those who have reformed and saved Hereford FC deserve all the praise. I wonder if those who called them traitors, and not real supporters, after they boycotted the club will offer any apology for those comments now? If the hadn't taken the action that they did, Hereford United FC would still be dragging its sorry state around, probably in our league, possibly still in the Conference, but heading in and out of court rooms and struggling to get by, as clubs do. Luckily they had a large group of supporters who figured out that being a fan meant more than turning up on a Saturday afternoon, in fact they figured out that Saturday afternoon was the least important part of supporting HUFC, and that going to games was just putting off the inevitable. They focussed on the long game, not just shouting on the lads!
