Lost 2-1 but impressed with the second half. I thought Fylde's fitness would finish us. Could easily have got a point today.

We competed well especially in the 2nd half. Fylde could have scored more in the 1st half hitting the woodwork twice, and missing a sitter, and at 2-0 down at half time, I feared the worst. Fylde were very quick to break, with their midfielders often running beyond centre forward Danny Lowe, and their movement caused us problems first half. Second half we got a lot closer to them, looked the better side, scored a great free kick from Keane, and had a great chance with 5 minutes to go when Colby Bishop was through one on one. Whilst the result was fair, based on Fylde's first half, with only one goal in it most of the second half, we were always in with a chance of getting something from the game.
I thought that the defence was generally solid, most of the midfield stuck at it, especially Danny Jackman whose quality on the ball is by far the best on show, and that Colby Bishop worked like a trojan up front on his own. I thought that Jordan Keane looked useful when he came on. The major disappointments were Micah Evans and Connor Hughes, both of whom looked like they want to " hide " on the pitch, and don't want to take responsibility. As our two wide men they had to be the " get out " ball, and needed to show more, and get more involved. Both also gave up possession far too easily, and their final ball delivery was very poor and lacked quality. I'm still willing to see what Hughes can do, but as for Evans, give me Chekaine Steele every time. With both Steele and Murphy on the books, based on what I've seen, I don't know why we signed Evans. I hope he proves me wrong.
Overall it was a gutsy effort from City, just lacking that final third bit of quality.

Anyone know who was on Tannoy duty? Almost called us Bromsgrove at one substitution and Fylde's last substitution was announced as Worceter's substitution!

No idea, but not very good, he was saying Flyed instead of Fyled as you say got the sub's wrong + a few other mistakes. He fluffs up at most City games, cannot wait till the Kiddy game

Just announced att 585 ?? Thats a poor gate, seeing we were playing the team at the top of the league, plus I thought a lot of extras would have turned up just to buy tickets for the Kiddy game. Just out of interest how many fans did Fylde bring. They are getting over 1,000 for their home games now (mainly ex Blackpool fans).

It was a very poor crowd, I was expecting a lot more as well. To me, it looked as though Fylde brought the 85, and we had the 500.

I would be surprised if there were more than 50 from Fylde - pretty poor from a team top of the league.
I am concerned about Boxing Day!! 800 Kiddy in the covered end will be noisy. We'll be in the open air struggling to make a noise

"Ebby Nelson-Addy is all about energy" states Carl. I think him and Snapper must have been watching a different game to me on Saturday. He always seems to get to a potential tackle or block just a split second too late. A lack of energy is what he is all about. Even the Fylde supporters behind us in the stand were laughing every time he lost the ball or just failed to get to the ball. And people wonder why there were only 500 Worcester people to watch. Hopefully Jordan's arrival will spell the end for Mr Addy. Once again, the oldest player on the pitch showed the most energy. Danny Jackman was MOM again.

Junior English, when subbed, left the field to what has to be the most quiet reception ever heard at a City home game. In the main stand, maybe four people clapped him. I don't think this is a reflection on the quiet atmosphere at the Vic, but was based on his play on Saturday & this season.

We'll be in the open air struggling to make a noise Fyldes home gates have gone up by close to a thousand (to 1,400 - 1,500) this season. Most of their extra "fans" have jumped ship from Blackpool FC. They support Flyde at home games, but very few are prepared to travel to away games. If and/or when Blackpool FC get rid of the Oyston family, and get new owners (who have the fans backing) then I expect the bulk of Fyldes "new fans" to defect back to their old club. They would be left with a "hard-core" of around 300 - 400, maybe a few more if they get promoted.

Centre midfield as I've said in previous posts is definitely an area we need improvement and hopefully J.Keane can do just that as English is a very average player at his level in my opinion. I think Steele is better than Ebby Nelson and don't understand why he's been on the bench in recent weeks especially after coming on and grabbing the winner for us against Curzon.

Disappointed we didn't get something out of that game. Fylde were good - but they weren't THAT good and we could easily have got a point.
Why we don't play Jackman every week is beyond me: he's still class, even at his age, and gave a far better display than the rest of the midfield put together. Ebby Nelson-Addy is a great disappointment for me: on his first appearance at the club I really rated him, but, like English, he gives too many balls away.
I really do wonder about some of Carl's substitutions; Jordan Murphy for Danny Jackman? Mad.

It's possible that Danny had run himself into ground, and we would like him fit to play against York City Saturday
