They may be our local rivals, but I wish Harriers all the best for their game at Blackpool on Sunday. To me it feels like a similar situation to the one we were in two years ago at Coventry. I genuinely believe they can cause an upset. Anyone else here thinking the same?

I wish them the best of luck, for Westfields also. My first team will always be the Dragons ) but I like to catch matches of our other local sides to. The Blackpool / FA Cup £income will certainly do Kiddy no harm in their quest for immediate promotion. Thinking back to our last few season's FA Cup runs, goodness me - they were special. Everyone thinking about; which day we were going to be playing on, if televised, counting the tickets sold not in hundreds but in the thousands - just brilliant stuff.

Same with me, I really couldn't give a damn about Harriers, they're just another football team, I don't care about Blackpool either, just another cup tie to me. I'm afraid I'm a one club man, I support City, and don't really take any notice of other teams, I don't get these people who can suddenly support another team because their boyfriend does! Fickle or what?

One interesting thing about the Blackpool - Kiddy game is that vocal supporters of Kiddy have been upset claiming they will be losing £20,000 playing Blackpool because a large number of Blackpool fans are boycotting games in protest of their owners. The Blackpool Supporters Trust (who are backing boycotting games) are doing a bit of a whip around to give to Harriers to make up for their loss of income.
My problem is working out how Kiddy are losing £20,000 on it. Blackpool still have decent support for their level, and it's a much nicer tie for a bumper crowd than many - cannot imagine Harriers would have got a big payday from a game at Curzon.

Connor Gater in the starting XI for Stourbridge at Whitehawk this afternoon. That means he's played in the first round proper in each of the last three seasons.

Blackpool claimed the gate was just under 2,000, although it looked much less from behind the goal where we were - maybe 1,200 - of which half were Kiddy fans. KHFC would have made almost "nout" as they say up north, out of the match. Once expences were taken out their share would have been 45% of not very much!

It utterly baffles me that they feel like they have lost £20,000 - surely any income from the cup is just a bonus. You can also point out that Kiddy (according to Blackpool) took 900+, I imagine many of them went on coaches put on by Harriers, which can make a tidy little profit. Travel expenses for the club officials/team are covered by both teams in the cup too, I believe. As I said - they wouldn't have made as much money as they did, if they were paying Curzon away in the first round rather than Blackpool!

Eaxactly, the FA Cup draw is the ultimate game of sporting chance, if three non-league teams were in the draw for the third round, one could be drawn away to Chelsea, and the other two drawn against each other. The Chelsea tie then gets live TV coverage. One non-league team could be picking up the fat end of a couple of million pounds win or lose, and the other the FA prize money for the third round and a share of a 2,000 gate. It's the luck of the draw, and down to a couple of old geezers and a bag of balls. Do you think that the team drawn against Chelsea would suddenly develop a conscience and suggest that their windfall be shared with other clubs? Or forgo their fortune out of principles? If we'd have beaten Huddersfield, I bloody well hope we wouldn't!!

Apparently the Blackpool Supporters have given Kiddy £3,000 as a donation because of their apparent missed income.
