Proverbial game of 2 halves. Stalybridge, were encouraged in the first and pushed 4 up, little seen of City up front. Just before half time the ball broke to Hughes, his shot came back off the keeper to Nelson-Addy who put City ahead. A body blow to the visitors who had done all the pressing to date. Probably City's first serious effort.
Second half a cracking shot came back off the post for the visitors and when City made it 2-0 shortly after it was a case of City keeping their composure. Chances came and went and the game was finally put to bed in the last 5 minutes. Three very welcome points and a boost to the goal difference and confidence.

Perfect summing up, simples. We had the run of the ball with our 1st goal, and Stalybridge hitting the post, but once we got the 2nd ( nice skill from Steele ), Stalybridge wilted and City had a period where they could have scored 4 goals in 5 minutes, before the 2 late goals. Three welcome points, four goals scored and a clean sheet takes us up to a season high 12th in the table.
Fitzpatrick shows promise and can see a pass, as demonstrated by his pass for the 3rd goal. He just needs to demand the ball more and impose himself on the game with more confidence in his abilities. For me though Sam Oji shone at the back, with his sheer will to win and determination and was my MOM.

Oji at the back and Steele were my 'men' of the match, first half seemed quiet, and we did seem to sit back too much, bit second half we were all over them, especially after Hughes's goal. Stalybridge needed a result today, and they pushed a little higher up the pitch, which gifted Hughes, Bishop and Keane plenty of room to run into and beat their defenders. Small margins stopped it being a cricket score, second half we must have had 7 or 8 good chances - as Dan Johnson apparently said on the radio, Worcester were playing like Barcelona!

How did Evans do? Bishop once again coming off the bench and sticking the ball in the back of the net. I was listening to the second half on the radio I guess I missed the poorer half from ourselves. Steele is quite the provider think he has 6 assists now, I heard Barcelona can anyone else confirm this?! Will any highlights be coming out for the game?

To have highlights, we would first require a cameraman, and an editor. Any volunteers?
I wasn't paying too much attention first half, but I didn't really notice him in the game. Bishops strength certainly worked well up front.

Lol I think a few times the away side has recorded the game and stuck them online I recall Harrogate off the top of my head. I take it there were no cameras there today then so the Barcelona moments will have to be imagined if you weren't there in person!

Not sure about playing like Barca, but according to the match announcer I'm sure he thought we were playing Stourbridge . Luck seemed to have turned slightly in our favour especially with our first and last goals, but no luck needed with the Hughes and Bishop efforts. Ref started well but seemed to get a bit pedantic later on (maybe he suddenly realised he was not following the NN refs 'script'). A good all round performance and I noticed Boot electing to punch most of the aerial stuff that came his way, rather than catch. Still think Steele doesn't push out wide enough as an outlet, but then again his inside pass to Hughes for the goal was excellent. A poorish attendance but no doubt pleasing to those who believe money shouldn't be going in to the club. Dodger.

Assuming all the Celtic fans were congregated behind the goal/s that Celtic were attacking, I would say around 20. Dodger.

Steele isn't a winger he's come in as a Centre mid from Port Vale who has been put out wide so it's not surprising to see him pulling in more central it's why I think he should be deployed in a number 10 position. I would've prob put him there instead of Evans an put Evans on the right.

Pleasing is not a word I would use but when it looks like we will either be finished in 2\3 years or , if not, will be facing the horrific possibility of playing at Sixways ,I would defy anyone to give me a good reason to keep on putting my "hard earnt" into the pot for more than the occasional visit.

The alternative option is you can wait for the grand opening of Perdiswell Stadium which will be project managed and built using the money raised by the Trust.

Without the Trust there wouldnt be a Planning Application for Perdiswell, the Perdiswell idea would not have ever been discussed or tabled... Now getting back to the original thread.....I thought Joe Fitzpatrick had a brilliant game in midfield, topped off with a sublime ball for Colby to smash in towards the end of the game. Upto 12th in the league, I feel confident that Carl and Snapper are doing the business that will keep us up again come April

Maybe you can finally tell us the big plan to save the club tabled by your friends and colleagues on the Inner Board? Any other outcome than that would render your opinions worthless and make you look rather the silly person with a grudge and/or agenda against certain people...

Didn't make the game 'cos I was up in Barrow-in-Furness; went to see Barrow v Tranmere, which Barrow deservedly won. Damned annoyed to have missed a 4-0 win!
Steve McNulty (remember him playing for Barrow against us? - a brick sh**house of a man!) was at No 5 for Tranmere; he's about 36 I reckon and grey-haired, but he was still allowed to marshal the defence for Tranmere. I didn't see him misplace a pass. Quite a quiet, civilised game for Barrow, usually such a hostile place.

Would make Kyle Perry look lightweight if they stood next to one another! Still, despite his weight, he's a very very good defender.
