Hi, this message is for all fellow shareholders who were left unhappy after the result of the recent 'EGM' and I want to test the water to see if there is an appetite for the following:-
As we all know we were defeated at that EGM by a small group of shareholder, made up mainly of ex and current Board members and their families and a number of shall we say older shareholders who were unwilling to gift club shares to the Trust. As those same shareholders hold sufficient shares to exceed the 25.0001% to block any majority exercising there views and will ensure that will always be the case and that the majority will never be able to pass any motion that seeks to modernise the Club constitution to make the voting fairer. I hope you may agree with me that this means we can never achieve the sort of changes needed to save the Club under the 'Ltd' company format.
Add to that years of mismanagement by successive Boards never living within the Clubs means and spending 'Our' money like water and continuing to run at a loss, they clearly have learnt no lessons and are now morally bankrupt and clearly not fit to run or dictate the running of a football club, nor are they looking after the majority of shareholders which is what they are supposed to be doing.
So rather than continue repeating things I have covered on previous postings I come to the point of my enquiry.
Given the Board and it's supporters stance, I would like to know and I ask this with a VERY heavy heart, what would be shareholders view and appetite to have an EGM at the end of the season with a view to call for the winding up of the club at the end of this season, so shareholders can recover their money before this thieving Board spend, lose and waste all the money that is left, as I fear if we don't try this we will all end up out of pocket and no club either.
I would then like to propose that a 'Phoenix' club is set up run along more democratic lines like that of 'Exeter City' and others where we all have an equal stake and influence in that Phoenix clubs future. I am under no illusions about what I am advocating and know the journey will be long and hard but it will be our Club and not the executive play thing the 'Ltd' company has become under the Board and it's predecessors, which they have unsuccessfully presided over for far, far to long losing money hand over fist each year.
Any fool can see the Club is doomed in it's present format and the money will soon be gone, so rather than prolong the agony, let's get our money out and back and start a Club we can all be proud of again and we all own.
I would only like replies, views and ideas from shareholders please.
