More pressure on Heeley then.
Wonder if it was his decision or the clubs. Sounds like his. Call me cynical but if we were top of the league he'd still be there...

Surprised there hasn't been more comment on this. Clearly we've been given a minimum amount of information, so we can only speculate as to the story behind the headline. Personally I'm sorry that this hasn't worked out, but Matt was always going to be a hard act to follow.
It does now throw up several questions, for example will there be a replacement, will there be a saving in the budget and if so will it be used to strengthen the playing squad?

Don't replace him, we can't afford it.
Carl picks the team & Snapper's already there to assist him & carry out training sessions. Between them they can cover the coaching of defenders & midfielders (it was their position when they played). I wouldn't expect them to be able to tell Lee Hughes how to score goals. Lee has more than enough football experience to coach his striker teammates during training.

That is disappointing news. Clearly Ian was not only brought in to share the load with Carl and Snapper but to add in his contacts in league football as that was where he worked in his “day job”. That is the gap that will need to be filled. It is always a shame when press releases simply cite “personal reasons” and it leads supporters to speculate. While I respect the right to keep the details to a minimum nevertheless I think supporters deserve a little more even if it is heavily sanitised, e.g. “travelling difficulties”, “problems balancing with the day job”, “not the job I thought it was”, “family arrangements”, etc. etc.

It is a shame, but clearly the wrong fit from someone's perspective.
I am sure it isn't related, but I couldn't help notice that his name was just one letter away from being highly unfortunate....

If it's personal reasons, that's good enough for me. Who cares what they are ? Why bother speculating ?
As for replacing him ? Up to Carl and Snapper to decide if the right candidate is available.

It's very difficult not to associate Ian Kings departure with the dramatic change in form and turn around in the teams fortunes. Particularly interesting to hear Tyler Weir's interview with Steve Carley after last nights game, which was more interesting for what he didn't say, as he refused to be drawn on the reasons for the teams change in fortunes. Clearly he was being diplomatic and I may be missing something but I can't think of anything else other than Kings departure that Tyler would need to be so coy about.

There were definitely some significant team selection differences back then we had Steele put on the bench for two matches after getting man of the match. Jackman no where near the team, I wonder if the trio had international clearance sooner if they would've gone straight in as I'm presuming he had an input in signing them. They all could turn out to be good signings tbf but maybe he wanted to change things too much.
