I walked over Brickfields yesterday at about 2.30pm and was delighted to see 4 football games going on all at once! A few minutes later I had a look at Perdiswell - there were a couple of dog walkers and a kite flyer. It spoke volumes.

"3. That Cabinet notes the availability of Section 106 funding to finance the contract works and agrees to allocate funding from the 2016/17 New Homes Bonus grant, to finance the remaining project costs."
Something doesnt seem right there...

Apparently this is the supposed timeline of events............. committee.cityofworcester.gov.uk/documents/s35565/Refurbishment%20of%20Perdiswell%20Pitches%20Cabinet%20March%202016%20v5%200%20DJS.pdfIn 2008, the Football Foundation gave a grant of 575 k to the Council to upgrade Perdiswell ( changing rooms and pitches ) against a total project cost of approx. 850k. Basically the Council made a mess of the pitches ( including cutting back on on-going maintenance ), resulting in no football at all being played on Perdiswell, The money allocated ( note, not the word spent ) for the pitches was 151k. What was the rest of the money ( 700k ) supposedly spent on then ? Changing rooms which became a very costly storeroom ? Really ? How much was actually spent as opposed to the projected costs ? Nothing happens............. It appears that just the mere 4 years later in 2012, the Council asked specialist consultants to advise on the state of the pitches. They came up with the earth shattering conclusion that the pitches were rock hard and full of stones. Now anyone who has played in those pitches in the last 30 years could have given the Council the same conclusion in 5 minutes ! The Football Foundation begin to think what have the Council really spent our money on ? Why are pitches unplayable after we gave them 575 k ? Did they really spend all our grant ? Still nothing happens............... 2015/2016 - WCFC want to return to Perdiswell Then guess what ? Yet again after just the 3 year wait this time for anything to happen to this rock hard, stone filled mess, coincidently the Council now decide to put the job out to tender, starting work in April 2016. Well fancy that ? The Council sits on its hands and cash for year after year, and as soon as WCFC want to go to Perdiswell, " It's sorry chaps, but after 5 years of no football being played there and 4 years after we asked specialists about it, we're only just about to start refurbishing the pitches. I know that it appears a coincidence that as soon as you ask about the land, something else happens to it when it's been sat idle for years, but rest assured, we do want you to return to Worcester, honest ". " Oh by the way, we won't have to pay the Football Foundation any money back ". "Sorry WCFC " ! If there is anyone on this planet who believes this timeline and coincidental sequence of convoluted crap ?
