Ummmmmm ! Without questioning Mr Riaz's motives for his tweets. But it has to be asked: Why does he state "I hope this isn't true", surely all of our elected Councillors are aware of our plight & if not, why not ? Was he invited because he is a Labour member ? If so were any Tory members invited ? Sorry if I sound negative about this, because any publicity is good. But in my opinion, this should not be a politically motivated argument with The City Council. It should be a community argument !! I've not a clue if any councillors were invited or not, but the impression I got was that he's gone along, presumably because of the publicity. Councillors who don't follow happenings at the club might not know that we've had the planning application drag on for nearly a year now, and that council chiefs have been stressful, to put it one way! As Rich Widd said to me earlier today, in the past supporters of the club have turned up to games, knowing that the club is in trouble, but then not help to fix it. Some councillors I imagine know we're in exile, and want to come home, but just don't know that the planning application has somewhat halted, and that fans do feel like they've been abandoned by the council. This is why we need to get ''in their face'' a bit about it. I can only see him saying he hopes it isn't true as a good thing, the issues surrounding the club will be in his mind, and I hope he, along with every councillor that wants to see us home shout loud and make their views as councillors heard by those against us!

To have a councillor turn up to the game, see the banners and question what has been going on, I'd consider the banners to be doing the trick. Lets hope he and his fellow councillors help and back the club. I noticed, on leaving at the North Stand exit, a mini-bus sporting an 'L.E.D' strap line "Worcestershire County Councillors executive travel" (or something along those lines). Dodger.

I sent invites to all those on the city council to attend as guests. A few responded positively but declined. Jabba Riaz was one who accepted although I didn't get a chance to speak with him. Councillor Chris Cawthorne was there and she was very supportive. Joy and George Squires came but I suspect they would have been there anyway as they are both long time city supporters. I also had a good chat with FCUM general manager Andy Walsh. He was very impressed with everything we all did yesterday and offered us support going forward. There have been a few dark days recently and no doubt a few more to come. However the effort that was put in yesterday gives me renewed hope that working together we can pull it off. Remember it's always darkest before dawn.

According to another who attended - they were advised by the Guildhall Legal Department if they were on the planning committee not to attend as a free ticket or hospitality could be seen as an inducement and prejudicial to their position.

The banners are a great move. The more publicity we can get the better. By making a lot of noise the councillors of all parties will start to weigh up the relatively few anti-stadium votes they will lose, versus the many who support it.

As this game was a community game, highlighting the benefits of a local football club in the community, with FCUM leading the way as a pioneer in a new world of community sports teams, all councillors were invited as guests to come and watch the game, and talk with the football club during the day.

Think it was great having all the kids there in their Worcester kit.
A good way to show how big a part of the community the Club is. The community benefits of having the Club back in Worcester needs ramming home to the City Council.

this was great for all the children to come to a big game in the local area & it was fantastic that they came from some distance, these are our future & this is why we need the club back in Worcester, if only the planners could see the future of Worcester sport is to have all major sports being played in worcester

2,100 there yesterday. Just think how busy local businesses could have been if this was in Worcester.

"I imagine this is the first step on a long road.." a step that you have been instrumental in enabling. You and all those involved should be extremely proud of yourselves.

We merely facilitated this. It was the generosity of the people who donated that made it happen. Each and every person that donated were a part of getting that message across. Must confess I rather enjoyed seeing people's faces once the big beast was unfurled! I looked at it and thought... we should have gone bigger!! We need to kick on and continue the fight. Important to keep the pressure on and not allow the Council to rest on their laurels at any point until we are back home.

Yes indeed, but "In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can" and you've got some of us believing again.

we believe that we can, we need to take it to another level now & need to get more & more people to help us get there, great news is I have now been asked by businesses if they can put one of the banners outside their premises, one is local to Perdiswell, just need a few more in the city & that will make another statement.... will try to sort out where possible but need others to assist in getting other businesses involved...

I thought the big banner was awesome, occupying as it did almost all of the centre of the East Stand. Wouldn't this look good hanging on the Guildhall railings?

We could probably do with a hand packing away the big banners after tomorrow nights game, so if anyone is willing to lend a hand, it'd be greatly appreciated.

my thoughts exactly just thinking how & when, once i have thought it out properly i will need assistance putting it up... Be careful with that, you wouldn't want being taken away like those scarves a few months back. Much the same with banners in town, we wouldn't want local businesses being fined or anything for trying to help us out. I was hoping to get a fans forum organised, maybe that would be a good opportunity to decide on future strategy and get a few more people involved?

I wonder if it would be worth having a presence at the Guildhall for Council Meetings - two of interest this month (to me anyway!) on the 24th which is the Planning Committee at 13:30 and another on the 22nd which is the Cabinet Meeting at 19:00.
