I like Robin, he's always very friendly whenever I've met him, and happy to have a chat about anything you raise, and I understand why he might not be so happy being expected to donate money because others have done so, but his wording isn't the best, and I must say, I'm a little disappointed with how he's come across. I expected better from him in all honesty.

this is a reply from Robin Walker's FB page www.facebook.com/Walker4Worcester/, the answers to all comments are taken a little out of context at times, but he says he will match opposition pledges... Robin Walker MP Dear Mr Stringfellow, thanks for your post. Not sure the best way to ask someone for money is to imply that they're not interested and try to embarrass them by saying what their opponents are doing, still less to insult them when they don't get the chance to reply within 48 hours. If you had approached me directly I might very well have offered to help to a greater extent but frankly I have a lot of good causes ask for my help week in and week our and most manage it more effectively and politely than you have. I do want to see WCFC come back to Worcester so I'm happy to donate the same £20 towards the banner as others have but I would suggest in future you and your friends show a little more patience in your demands. As regards the match on 5th march I'm afraid I won't be able to make it but thanks for the invitation. Wow what a thinned skinned politician. Maybe not enough bowing and forelock tugging.

Over £1,000 raised. Incredible support! There's one BIG message coming your way Worcester City Council. Thank to everyone for your support so far. However the job's not done just yet. Almost at the target but need to hit £1,200 to make this happen in full and make the BIG impact. Let's do this #bringcityhome

We'll be collecting money for the banner fund at tonights game to try and reach the target, we're just over £100 short of the total needed, so please dig deep if you want to support the cause! One of us will be in the Aggborough suite before the game and at half time with a collection tin and the final banner designs, and another will be by the food vendor before the match. Just keep an eye out for the collection tins! Thanks to all who have donated so far, we're so close to the target, it'd be a shame to fall at the last hurdle!

I remember when Bromsgrove fans came to SGL and had a collection when they were deep in the boddy. Maybe they would return the favour?

Well, the club can borrow the tins I put a picture up of, should they ever want them, courtesy of Worcester Roots Foundation.

If and when you do move to Bromsgrove, hopefully temporarily it would be great if the two sets of supporters could find ways to work together. It would be a shame to see Worcester go the same way as Rovers. I can already see some bright sparks talking about mergers, best way to avoid that nonsense is together.

It's at times like this that local clubs need to stick together. Your support is much appreciated.

17.8kgs of flag (plus another 2.6kgs in a separate shipment) on their way Worcester City Council....
Thank you to everyone for supporting the banner campaign. It has raised an incredible amount! Together we can be stronger and make a bigger statement to Mr Bayliss & Co to let them know the strength of support behind the campaign to #bringcityhome

Toys & Games of Worcester now have the banner they funded (option 3) up outside their shop!
On a side note, you can buy tickets for the FC United game there!

A big thank you to everyone who donated and got behind this. Over £1,200 raised! Thanks also to thatloudbloke, thesecondjack and blueandwhitearmy for helping make this happen.
I just hope the flags do justice in getting the message across. They should help supplement the overall spectacle on Saturday.
Would have gone larger with the big one but my garden wasn't big enough...
The photo is my "tribute" to Mr Boddy

"A series of giant banners — one the width of a basketball court — will be unveiled at Worcester’s match against....."Where's the big one going to be placed - in the empty seats across from the main stand?

Yes, the East stand is the plan. Think that's the only place it'll fit!

Will the banners be on show for the rest of the season at home games as well? Yes, that's the plan. I haven't worked out yet where they are going to be stored yet (clearly up in Newcastle in no good!). I still need to find out whether that's at the ground (understand space may be limited) or whether someone who lives near to the ground could hold onto them and bring them to the games (they weigh 20kgs...) There is a role going for "custodian of the flags" i.e. someone to take good care of them and take to the "home" games and put them up and take them down etc. Any takers?

Might be worth contacting Rob Crean of the ST who could help out I'm sure

Rich
I will take custody of them & sort out with you on Saturday, might have a couple of homes for the smaller ones on buildings in our home town when they are not at matches, thinking our banners might/ will be better out making the statement rather than locked away, we/I need help at games to put them out & pack away & might need help with other project use for the banners...

Yup, certainly will need a repeat effort from a few volunteers to put them out/pack them away, but happy to help as usual!

To have a councillor turn up to the game, see the banners and question what has been going on, I'd consider the banners to be doing the trick. Lets hope he and his fellow councillors help and back the club.

Ummmmmm ! Without questioning Mr Riaz's motives for his tweets. But it has to be asked: Why does he state "I hope this isn't true", surely all of our elected Councillors are aware of our plight & if not, why not ? Was he invited because he is a Labour member ? If so were any Tory members invited ? Sorry if I sound negative about this, because any publicity is good. But in my opinion, this should not be a politically motivated argument with The City Council. It should be a community argument !!
