Not enough information to say too much, but it seems a harsh punishment?

It's a harsh punishment, but rules are rules. The bit to stress is ''It is important to note that the three players were not involved in any attempt to fix matches and did not accept monies or gifts.'' I'm glad the club have said they will support Tyler, but it does mean we're a good player down for a large number of games now.
It'll have to be Gudger at left back for the forseeable, which is concerning seeing as he's only just coming back from injury. I cannot see Jackman being played at left back much, as captain he could do with being in the middle to control things.

Failure to report offers to match fix, essentially.
As City have said, he hasn't actually done anything wrong, he just didn't do anything, which itself constitutes an offence in this case. Bit unfortunate really but common sense should have told him to report to someone, even if it was Carl and Matt. Bit of naivety/loyalty to former teammate I guess.
Leaves us a full back light, just Minihan and Jamie Smith as genuine full backs, although Gudger has filled in well this season.

I feel sorry for the lad. In his situation, what do you do? Snitch on a former team mate, or brush it under the carpet and hope nothing happens? Unfortunately, it came back to bite him a couple of years down the line.
The real investigation should be looking in to how Guiseley threw a 3 goal lead away against us. Something fishy going on there...

I don't know the details of the case, but could it be that those that set these betting bribes up are not exactly pleasant people? If Tyler etc had informed he might well have faced serious physical retribution.
