Great news, just wonder if they have been causing trouble elsewhere as comments yesterday said they were from Driotwich, seems a long way to travel just to cause grief.

Glad to hear it'll be dealt with - if we have any trouble in the return fixture, I'd like to think that our Stewards will do as those at Gloucester did and remove them from the ground. We have many more stewards then most, yet often struggle to deal with the unruly few. Unlike Gloucester we think about the setup prior to the match and the game will be segregated ! Two years running there have been problems at our matches at Whaddon Road !

Pie-gate will be replaced with segregation-gate then.

Thanks for the attendance! Although other teams are away from home as it were, it's a poor attendance when you note that Stourbridge managed to bring in over 1,800 against Halesowen in the league below. I certainly think we had a large portion of the crowd, I'll be amazed if Gloucester bring as many to Aggy as we did the Cheltenham. To put into perspective......Halesowen and Stourbridge have always been popular derbies with the distance between the two only around 5 miles. In addition, of course, there is a much better bus service than Worcester with West Midlands buses running every 10 minutes or so both ways (the ground is a 5 minute walk from the Stourbridge bus terminus). Dodger.

With all the 'camera-phones' being around nowadays, maybe, just maybe, someone has them 'caught on camera' Dodger.

There doesn't NEED to be segregation... Its 10 idiots that just need a talking too. Don't punish the majority just over 10, 14 year old kids.

The clubs needs to deal with this hooligan problem, do not allow them to congregate next to visiting supporters, like the stewards did against Solihull and Southport, and had to move the away supporters for their own safety. On Worcester City Facebook their is a good group photo of these boys at the Gloucester game, comment from Luke Sargent Cooper " sorry for supporting my club". Looks like we have injury problems in our central defensive area, with Wayne Thomas (hamstring),Tom Sharpe(calf), and Alex Gudger(ankle) all missing for todays game against Brackley Town, with Carl and Matt looking into bringing in a loan centre back.

Should their away support keep strong, we might, just might hit a thousand when FCUoM visit in March. That'll be nice. Still not a big gate though, when you think about it.

Poor gates for any local derby when you see Hereford can get over 4,000 against Westfield.

Everyone ready for tomorrow's game? With City so light on numbers with both injuries and suspensions I suspect it's gonna be a "backs to the wall" performance tomorrow.
Surely, statistically, we must be due a point against them?

Not sure why you've revived such an old thread Tim but don't forget we won there 1-0 last season.

I revived the thread to stop multifarious threads on the same subject. As it turned out the match was a non-event, totally overtaken by events immediately afterwards.
City were abject in the 1st half and not a lot better in the 2nd.

Interesting to read in the Gloucester program - last year they managed to stay up & (more importantly) make a profit.

Interesting to read in the Gloucester program - last year they managed to stay up & (more importantly) make a profit. That's quite remarkable - the profit aspect. Can't recall any cup runs. Wonder whether that is due to prudent management and / or successful commercial activity?? Either way - a blueprint we should take a look at

You should read page 3 too (not something I normally endorse), from their boardroom. Their chairman talks about how everyone knows they don't come close to making a profit each season, their manager believes they made a small profit. My understanding speaking to people I know who support Gloucester is that a couple of wealthy supporters clear the debts each season. Not really a viable business plan if you ask me.

View AttachmentView AttachmentThat's not something unique to Gloucester though is it? Investing in a football club isn't a viable business plan, everyone knows that. You either operate at a loss and get bailed out by a wealthy backer (Fylde, Salford etc), or live beyond your means and deal with the losses later (City and Hereford). Unfortunately the day of reckoning isn't too far away from us now, with no external investment likely, or even possible.
