Merry Christmas everyone!
I'm hoping for a gift of 3 points tomorrow. It surely must be our turn by now.

I've always had the theory that we gift the games to Gloucester, to keep them in the league - it's good for us to have some locals at our level. This year however, we're struggling a bit too this season, so it's probably time to look after ourselves too! 4 points over the 2 Games would be excellent IMO.

About to set off for the game but feeling slightly nervous that my new city top will get covered in pie should some of the Gloucester fans not be happy with the way the game is going.

Halftime, 0-0. We are probably the better side but doesn't mean much if you don't show it on the scoresheet.
Must say I've been impressed with Dunkley and Gater today, both taking their chances in the starting lineup.

About 15 of our children have stayed behind the one goal in with the Gloucester fans, was some pushing and shoving and the 5 stewards have a job on their hands.

City win 1-0 with a late goal from Deon Burton on 87 minutes. Yippee!!!!
Three points and two home games to come.

City won, Deon being the impact sub! Good game all round, worth the trip.
Id like to say sorry to the stewards and Gloucester fans who had to put up with the minority of our lot who where more focused on making a nuisance of themselves rather then watching the game. Police came into the ground and several of the crowd were taken out - from both sides I believe. We don't want fights, we want football!

Massive 3 points today that was fully deserved. We dominated the first half. Solid at he back and Dunkley was class down the left wing, leaving the Gloucester right back for dead every time. More even second half and when Tommo went off injured we battled well with a makeshift back four that had Ellis Deeney at centre half and Danny Jackman at left back again. Great perfomances all over the pitch, but Lee Hughes ran his socks off again- love the shift he puts in.
When Gloucester went down to 10 it was enough to swing momentum back our way and finally have that clear cut chance for Burton to bury. What. A. Feeling. The Christmas that keeps on giving :-)
Less said about the morons behind the goal the better, but the Club need to take action and stamp it out. They are bringing shame on the Club. They need to be banned. Simple.

At least one chap I saw arguing with the police at the car park exit has already had a ban from the club following the fracas at the Rushden FA Cup game. The game should clearly have been segregated following the racism allegations and the Shepherds Pie flinging in the last few years.

Does anyone know what the attendance was? I didn't hear it over the PA like we do at home games (sorry couldn't resist)

Terrific result and as Tim says two home games to come. I must admit I was fearing the worst as I was following the Worcester News newsfeed as the game progressed at 0:0 but my fears were unfounded - 1:0 City!
Merry Christmas!

Brilliant result.
Shame about the knobhead kids. You know trouble is brewing as they don't follow the rest of the support to behind the other goal. Starting to really wear thin.
Start behaving or the club need to get them banned.

Attendance for todays game was 664, a great result today with two home games with Brackley Town on Monday 28th December at 3pm and Gloucester City on Saturday 2nd January at 3pm. A good opportunity for the team to move up the table, subject to injuries picked by Wayne Thomas and Tom Sharpe. It would be nice if we could get a decent crowd for these two Christmas fixtures to help the coffers to ease the pressure on the playing budget.

Great result and fully deserved on the first half performance. A surface that got more bobbly as the match went on plus a swirling wind meant that it was never going to be pretty, but again City played the elements well. The crowd was 664 by the way ( including the tedious 15 travelling morons) . Injuries to Sharpe and Thomas were the downside leaving us short at centre half - let's hope that Gudger will be fit for Monday to play alongside Morris ( who gave another committed effort today ). Deeney and Gater continued their fine form, whilst Minihan 's energy and lovely cross set up the goal. Vaughn's handling was also faultless. With more composure and better pass selection in the final third, we should have made a lot more of our first 30 minutes dominance. A fine start to the Xmas fixtures.

Thanks for the attendance! Although other teams are away from home as it were, it's a poor attendance when you note that Stourbridge managed to bring in over 1,800 against Halesowen in the league below. I certainly think we had a large portion of the crowd, I'll be amazed if Gloucester bring as many to Aggy as we did the Cheltenham.

How many times have i trudged out of Whaddon Road at Xmas, freezing cold or soaking wet and bitterly disappointed at being turned over yet again by the Tigers? So today I skipped away warm and content and it was doubly sweet. Funny game I thought as we were undoubtedly the better side but when our two centre backs went off and Gloucester started to get on top it looked to me like it might go against us yet again. The first goal always looked to be the winner. The sending off turned the tide. Never a red card in my book having watched it several times on the video. A late tackle sure but a yellow card on almost any other day. Ellis was magnificent again and did a great job as emergency centre back. Hughes too always looked a threat and has a bit of the De Costa about him the way he rattles and winds the opposition up.
Those idiots already referred to above need identifying and sorting out. That kind of intimidation and abuse of other fans has no place anywhere but especially in non-league where most clubs are struggling and Gloucester, like us, have no home and are just looking to survive. If that behaviour put even one casual fan off attending in future its one no club can afford to lose. Video and some long range pictures could easily identify these idiots and they should be turfed out of aggborough and banned when next they show their face.

Thanks for the-on-the-spot reports of the match. I am delighted that those that made the trip to Whaddon Road had something to celebrate this year. The form guide on the Stalybridge Celtic website has City in seventh place based on form over the last ten games. A great time to kick on as they say! I think this squad is better placed to deal with the rapid sequence of games. I hope that yesterday’s injuries do not prove too serious.
Boxing Day is a great, traditional day for football. My best memory of Boxing Day at St George’s Lane was a game that was played in rain and everyone on the Brookside was huddled under the cover. The Festive spirit was not dampened however as it seems every other person was smoking their Christmas cigar and this blue fog seemed to get trapped under the roof and the match was watched through a thick haze! Not too healthy perhaps but them were the days!

After having the rub of the green for a couple of years, it had to happen. I thought we maybe desevered a draw, but we've had wins when we didn't warrant a point, so what goes around. A word about those who decicided to stay in the "home end" second half rather than follow the normal people who just want to support their team. 20 odd 14 year old little boys in leggings and Bieber quiffs offering out 40 year old blokes from behind stewards was hilarious. But they may grow up. The old bloke and Rufus Hound were definitely old enough to know better, and really need to reassess their lives. Better 3 points each than draws to ensure our Xmas duels. Ball in our court. Hope you all had a good one at our expense, and we are safe from the BieberCrew next week. ?

Glad to hear it'll be dealt with - if we have any trouble in the return fixture, I'd like to think that our Stewards will do as those at Gloucester did and remove them from the ground. We have many more stewards then most, yet often struggle to deal with the unruly few.
