Feel oddly optimistic about the game on Saturday - despite the mauling we got there earlier in the season.
I remember Solihull being a very strong, physical side. But city are a lot better and stronger than when we met previously.
Given it's non league day and there are no 'big' matches on the Saturday - would like to think we will take a fair few fans along...

Very possible that Bignot will go to Kiddy but doubt it will be by the weekend with KHFC stating that they have interviews on Friday and Sunday, and how many of the Ex Kiddy players will he convince to follow him back, given players like Byrne have vital experience in the league and that could help turn their fortunes around, either way if he is going for it then maybe his and the players minds will not be 100% on point for the game ?

Is there a coach being organised? It's an easy drive I know, but it seems daft to go in one car alone. There is parking on the ground, but it's bound to be limited and a good crowd can be expected.

Solihull is typically a Birmingham City support area so, as there are no league games, there could be additional attendees from that contingent (not discounting Villa supporters may also attend). Byrne was sent off at Chorley last week after 7 minutes of the game (I assume that he is available to play - possible similar situation to Lee Hughes?). I think we can expect Solihull to come out of the traps fairly quickly (seems to be their style), so hopefully we've prepared/are preparing. Dodger.

Tim, due to Brum City Ladies now playing games at Solihull, they have actually extended the car park and it is now fairy large and extends down to the training pitches. On the coach front I dont think there is an official coach, we would have heard something by now. Supporters Club will no doubt be running a coach however.

Why does the supporters' club not post such things on boards like this? They seem to operate in their own universe.

Why does the supporters' club not post such things on boards like this? They seem to operate in their own universe. My sentiments too. What is this mysterious supporters club? Who runs it? Is it spin-off of the freemasons? However, a coach/coaches would make sense but probably all a bit too late for City to organise. Might have generated a small, but useful, profit into club funds. "Feel oddly optimistic about the game on Saturday". A WCFC supporter should never allow optimism to worm its way into their brain. Feeling slightly less pessimistic than before would be more appropriate.

If we have a better team then we did earlier in the season (like most think), and if we can keep 11 men on the pitch (like most would hope for), we *could* do well. I'm thinking it'll be a draw, they have a very decent home record so a win might be a step too far - win the replay.

My mind immediately leapt to "but what if that clashes with the FA Cup 3rd round....Who would look after the kids?". It's amazing the impact one good cup run has on logical thought

In similar vein I've booked a few days with my daughter up in Barrow, then realised that Tuesday 27th would be a likely replay date should we get that far.
Of course, should we survive on Saturday, then we could draw Barrow at home and have a replay up there on the Tuesday!

Worcester City fc supporters club are running a coach to " Solihull Moors" on Saturday - contact Keith Chambers- 01905 358193 or 07712457698 as posted on "Facebook". The Worcester City Supporters Club have been operating away travel to games for years, travel for away games is announced on the pa at all home games and has a section in the programme. Solihull Moors fc has announced it will be charging for car parking from this game onwards, if you arrive after 2pm it will cost you £2 to park your car. On Saturday its "Non League Day" so hopefully we will get a big away following for the return of Wayne Thomas, it should be a different game to the one in the league, with a much improved squad in place.

Here's a pre-match write upon the game from Moors: www.solihullmoorsfc.co.uk/news/details.php?news_id=11718Also note their keeper was injured on Saturday and have no got a villa keeper on loan - could be useful not having their first choice at hand. Silly question, from the end of their write up, but since when has Birmingham been a county?

1-1 draw, over 900 at their ground - was a good day out.
Solihull had a penalty in the first half, player went down after Vaughan went for the ball (from where I was, it wasn't a penalty) - they scored. We had a fair few chances but not as many as them, it was an exciting game where the end product wasn't really there for either team. Deon Burton scored our equaliser in the second with a powerful shot. City need sort out their defending against set pieces, every time we concede a corner we look worried and unsure how to clear the ball (it's just hit it away and hope our 1-2 players out of our box get hold of it somehow) City were often beat in midfield for me, and slow to build up attacks. That said, we looked much better then we did against them not too long ago when we lost 3-0... I do think we can beat them on Tuesday.
Tyler Weir left the pitch on crutches without a boot on the one foot - could be a bad one. Will be a miss if he isn't ready for Tuesday replay, along with Hughes for suspension (i believe)
Our players I felt did well: Sam Minihan, Danny Nti and Nathan Vaughan (man of the match for me). Players who could do better: Ellis Deeney, Tom Sharpe, Wayne Thomas (only saw him for a few minutes at the end but didn't look match fit) Most improved player: Sean Geddes - helped out other players a lot more than he usually would, still needs to improve his corner taking.

I'm sure Hughes is ok for replay. Ellis Deeney has looked slightly of his game all season to me. Not terrible but just not where he was last season. A good draw in the end though.

I'm sure Hughes is ok for replay. I hope he is - we do need him against the stronger teams about, Solihull included. I must admit I can never get my head around the grace period after red cards.

A fair result all in all
We didn't create many clear cut chances, but Solihull's defence is pretty impressive. First half we seemed to get a little overrun in midfield and Vaughan kept us in the game. Was at the other end but it looked a penalty to me.
2nd half we looked much more solid and in control. Felt we needed to get behind their defence more - we seemed to lack a bit of width. Burton's finish was very impressive.
Can see why they are top of the league. But we aren't that far behind them on the evidence of today.
Reckon we must have had half the crowd there today...!?

The Birmingham Mail report absolutely nails it, couldn't put it better. Another good performance against an impressive Solihull team best I have seen so far, they could really take you apart if you let them.
I think Tom Sharpe has been consistently outstanding in defence. The other teams will on occasions create chances, that's football, but Sharpe's command in the air and reading of the game is of a very high standard. Not much gets past him and when it does thank God we have Vaughany, who was outstanding yesterday. As for Tommo not looking fit, blimey he was only on for 5 minutes, even I could look fit in that time!

Remember that TV programme 'Land of the Giants'? Was that Solihull Moors? I don't think I've ever seen such a large set of defenders. They make Sean, Sam and Ellis look like midgets.
I've been more and more impressed by Alex Gudger's performance at centre back in recent games, alongside Tom Sharpe. So where do you put Wayne?

I like Sharpe, I'd play his most games, but I felt like he wasn't aware enough yesterday of where some of their players were, he's a perfectly fine defender for our league, but will get caught out a couple of times against tough opposition. Vaughan was crucial yesterday. As for Wayne, he was on the pitch at least 10 minutes - in that time lost the ball twice, once passing straight to their player (did put his hand up to say it was his fault) and didn't look ready for a match start, I'd like to see him play 30-40 minutes to see how he copes. It is going to be a hard choice where he fits into the team though, the only thing I think he will have which the others don't is that he can bark orders and (hopefully) sort our defending of set pieces out. Highlights are now up, Vaughan really did earn his wages!

Exactly why onTuesday we shouldn't go humping the ball forward towards the front men. We need to run at them with the ball on the ground and try to play it in behind them. Big men are all well and good at defending those long balls but big men will soon tire if they are made to work.

Was impressed with Gater again....seems as though he is getting back to where he was prior to his injury last year.
Having seen the league game and yesterday the teams both looked so much different....i didnt think Solihull were anywhere near what they were when we first played them....then again we are a totally different team now too.
Only thing I would have wanted to see was Dunkley on 10 minutes earlier and get him running at the back four...one of which was on a yellow and Harrad on for Burton who in last 5 was chugging.
Really think we will beat them Tuesday night (dreaded tuesday night games)...especially when we get a huge boost of an away game vs Kidderminster in the next round

A very good effort and performance against a very good Solihull team. The team deserve a lot of credit for matching up physically against what must be the biggest team in the league. I thought that Sharpe and Gudger were outstanding at the back, and Vaughn had a blinder behind them. Going forward, we just need to keep the ball up front a bit longer, but by and large, we retained the ball very well. The improvement was immense from the 3-0 loss earlier in the season, and we deserved the draw in what was an entertaining, high tempo good game.

Saturday's game was a ground record for a Solihull Moors home game.
