As no one else seems to want to talk about today's game I will start this off.
Summary: First half pretty even although I think City got one or two more shots away, than the hosts. Vaughan lucky not to be sent off for handling outside the area. One of many poor decisions by the referee.
Second half was a half of two halves. First twenty minutes we dominated, hosts lost the plot and we scored. Second twenty odd minutes hosts dominated, we lost the plot and they scored. I was happy with the point the way the game ended.
Thought all the new players did well, Ellis Deeney didn't put a foot wrong. I am concerned by the petulance some players showed by kicking the ball away and picking up unnecessary yellow cards. This resulted in one getting sent off. This needs to be stamped out straight away IMO.
One more observation. Darren Campion looks a good player. Hard tackling in the mould of Stuart Pearce. I'm not saying that's bad but with the poor quality of referees at this level if fear he could pick up a fair few yellow cards or even red ones. I will be interested to see how his season goes.
