Looking ahead to tonight and I have to admit I am not looking forward to the game. Put it this way... I wouldn't be taking the 3/4 odds available on us as we don't have anywhere near a full squad to choose from! Not sure if we will have enough for a full bench, which is crazy considering this is the biggest squad I can remember at GP for a long time. Couple of youth team players involved. McSheffrey might make it. Osbourne is back which is great as he has been a revelation and if he seemed to drag the rest of the team to the win on Saturday. I shall be watching from the comfort of my front room with a couple of lagers as I couldn't get it off work so close to XMAS. We are annoyed that the replayed Chesterfield v MK Dons is taking place the day before the 3rd round. Poor planning by the FA. If we get through, it is another midweek fixture that we really didn't want. Enjoy the game and good luck for the season. Prediction: Worcester 1-4 Scunthorpe www.iron-bru.com

I know it's a cliché but the first goal tonight is going to be crucial, by all accounts your away form has been pretty good under Mark Robins, but equally your confidence seems pretty thin the example being your performance after Nti equalised, so if we can get the first then it will be game on. Everyone here knows we didn't turn up for the first half up at your place so here's looking to a good start from our lads.
Heart Prediction: 2-1 City Head Prediction: Extra Time Scunthorpe Win

We didn't turn up at all for the first leg, but we generally don't without our loanees. That said, they played on Saturday and we were abysmal until Osbourne came on, who will be starting tonight.
We haven't lost under Robins away from home yet- winning at Gillingham (Robins watching brief) P'Boro, Barnsley, Forest Green and should have won at Crawley. Also drew at Port Vale with 10 men.
We've only lost one in 10 home/away, which was a game we really should have won against Notts County.
If we start firing, coupled with a big spend in January, the play offs are a realistic aim. Our bad start and huge injury list has cost us. One week soon we will put 4 or 5 past someone, but I don't think, being truthful, that will be tonight.

Is this Isiah Osbourne that you are talking of?
I remember seeing him at Villa about 4/5 years ago. He was always on the fringes but looked quite lively. Not heard of him since, until now.

Yes Isiah. He has been somewhat of a revelation and a great find- we are looking to tie him down on a long deal. Missed the first game through injury.

I think the odds have slightly shaded in our favour: a capacity home crowd, very few away supporters, the opposition still a little bit scared of us, fanatical home crowd pressurising the referee's every decision.
Little things can turn cup ties. I said as much to the man in the newspaper shop before setting off for Coventry and I said "supposing they have their goalkeeper sent off?" and look what happened, a game-changing moment. Next time I went in he said I should have taken odds on it. I didn't forecast it, merely remarked it was the sort of thing that can happen. He now thinks I am clairvoyant.
I am looking forward to the game with both excitement and dread (any real football supporter - especially of City - will know what I mean). A lot depends on that first goal and when it comes. Ah well, come eleven o'clock tonight it will be a matter for the history books.
With the MK Dons v Chesterfield being played just before the next round it seems the stage is set for whoever wins to have a crowded January fixture list.
C'mon City - we can do it!

The odds are in Scunny's favour. They're a full time professional team. But this is the cup..........

I've seen/read that Scunthorpe are struggling at the minute with numbers. Couple of injuries from the weekend game against Crewe and with the loan players not eligible to play they are bringing a couple of youth players down to fill up the bench. But that means nothing.

Being a referee myself I know how bad this referee is # awful, let's just hope he is bad for both teams or bad for scunny. Good luck to the boys and what ever happens they have done worcester proud. Also lets hope the fans stay off the pitch so that the players can do a lap of honour at the end to thank the supporters.

Why did durso play two minutes added when only one minute was put up on the board, only that useless ex premier league referee can answer. I thought the lads where tremendous again and a credit to worcester. I don't come from worcester but after tonight if worcester City council don't support the club by helping them build a new stadium then you lot in worcester should vote them out. Let's hope some of the new supporters who came tonight start coming more regularly because the quality I have seen from worcester this season deserves better support, if only my beloved Albion could play with the passion and desire that those kids play with week in week out.

I love this club. I will be with the city until I die. What a performance, deserved a win but it just didnt fall our way. The pride I feel for everything the lads have achieved is unbelievable, this is the time for us to push, get everything behind the city and drive them to every success. This is what being a football supporter is all about. The sentence on everyone's lips: 'Why the bloody hell are they in the conference north??'

I can only say disappointed, I really think we should have had the result after 90 minutes & we were by far the best team during extra time. Shame but the team deserve plenty of praise, they were outstanding considering the difference in status between the teams. Well done blue dragon City boys. You did us proud !!

A bit lost for words. Might be something to do with only getting home at ten to 2 in the morning after the long drive home. But also that was just epic!
All I can think of is the word 'pride'. I'm bursting with it. That was a sensational performance - all the players were fantastic. Every one. I hope they wake up tomorrow and don't feel disappointed. They should know that they wore the shirt that we love with chests puffed out and put up a great performance - we could not ask for any more. Chin up boys and on to Stalybridge and Halifax. These are the days and we are with you. Believe.
To Carl & Matt - your hard work is paying off, the club is back on an upward curve. As Carl says the sky's the limit.
To the board and the trust, keep going, we can all see the potential.
See you at Stalybridge - we are tired, probably hurting a bit, but we are Worcester City and we have that pride.

Great stuff from all concerned. Epic battle and good luck to Sc*nthorpe. Their 'superior' class really showed. Not.
The only real question is why the stadium was 2k below capacity, ie. one-third empty, for a 'sell-out' crowd.
Whoever insisted on/agreed this needs their head examined.
Probably won't ever be an issue ever again, but took the gloss off a good night, in the main.
Despite the result.

You Have given us two good games and have to say I felt a little sorry for you last night as you gave it everything. Our aim is to get to Jan winning as many as possible before we can rebuild the team and ship out the deadwood so I must admit I was a little worried about last night, especially when it went to penalties.
We rarely win on penalties. Last season's epic vs Barnsley was epic for all the wrong reasons (18 taken- 9 missed) but last night there were some fantastic penalties from both sides and I did feel sorry for Wayne Thomas. He got lucky scuffing the first, but he had a good game keeping Taylor quiet.
Good luck for the season. Really hope your lads get into the Conference. You deserve it.

Yeah, looking back on the game this morning with a little bit more of a level head, on the football side of things - I can't remember seeing so many quality penalties before. A string of 16 scored on the trot with most being unsaveable. Both sets of players kept their focus extremely well.
Game was played in a great spirit, & the Scunthorpe lads came across as a thoroughly decent sort.
The attendance was only 4,339.
I don’t support any other (bigger) clubs. The only football games I regularly go to are our games. What I take away from this Cup run is that a League1 club like Scunny isn’t that much bigger than a successful/large non league club. Scunny (who used to be a Championship club even as recently as 2011) usually have home fan attendances of around 3,000 & take fans in the low hundreds to away games. Our old non league rivals like Cheltenham, Burton, Crawley & Yeovil have become established league clubs - the gap between non-league & league just isn’t anywhere near as big as it used to be.
My other abiding memory is looking at the little lad in front of me during the penalty shootout. It was probably his first City game & he had a wide eyed look of total bewilderment as to what was happening. Who knows, last night may start him off as a City fan - & he could still be attending games in the 2090's as a pensioner when we are all long gone.

I don't know about anyone else who attended the game but today I am totally, totally emotionally and physically drained. Disappointed, but not dismayed. I did say I was looking forward to the game with a certain amount of dread mixed in with the excitement.
A very brave performance from a great side, who really deserved to win (but then I would say that wouldn't I?). As for the penalty shoot-out I found it heart-stopping, nerve-jangling, mind-numbing, gut-wrenching, nail-biting: use what adjectives you like it doesn't do the actual sensation justice really. Time seemed to stop.
All in all it was a night to remember in the history of our great little club.
It takes a good management team to pick a team up after a defeat like that, and pick them up they will have to, because if my maths is correct starting on Saturday we have FIVE games in 12 days. This would be a big ask for a full-time squad let alone our part-time players.

Every City player was outstanding last night, but a couple to call out:
- Praise is quite rightly heaped on George Williams, but Tyler Weir was terrific again last night. What a great pair of full backs we have - He doesn't get mentioned much, but Connor Gater has started in both Scunthorpe games, and looks to have superb potential

I suppose with all the media attention the club has had with the FA Cup run & the 'Rabona' goal from Geddes, this just adds to the list.
Fantastic performances over 3 games against League 1 professional clubs where we didn't look out of place once. It took Scunthorpe 3 & half hours and 32 penalties to beat us and with 60 odd places between the two teams it never showed.
After not attending games for a few years where I went home and away for too long, I decided to jump on the cup bandwagon at Leamington going to all the FA Cup games & the Barrow FA Trophy game. Now I am getting 10 game season ticket for my birthday.

One sour note from last night was the idiot who decided it'd be a laugh to run on the pitch. Add to that the multiple bottles thrown onto the pitch by the knuckledraggers in the North Terrace - one of which was picked up by the referee during the shootout - saw him note the fact in his notebook - so the club will be having a nice big fine handed their way. Which really leaves one question to be asked - what's the point in having all those stewards down that end if they're just going to stand there doing ****-all.
