I wonder how big the gate will be today. I'm thinking more regulars than normal, people wanting Scunny tickets & as there's only a point between Scunny & Kiddy in the league I wonder if we'll pick up a few who can't be bothered to go uo to Bradford. & Rob...... Cummon You Blues for me

Game off- frozen pitch.
Disappointing (especially for the travelling Halifax fans). Could an earlier pitch inspection have taken place to avoid wasted journeys?
On the upside this is probably a blessing in disguise for Wednesday.

Travelled 130 miles to find game postponed at 1.30.Spoke to the ref before he set off home ,he too seemed annoyed. If i heard him right NO local official was called in make an early morning inspection which is the usual step if doubts re pitch.Poor state of affairs, seems very amateurish.

Kidderminster and the subcontractors for groundsman SHOULD have covered the pitch.
Also an official of the club should have contacted WCFC at 8am this morning when they left Aggborough for Bradford
It wasnt until 10.30 that an official got access to the pitch to walk it. By that time it would have been too late.
Unfortunately it seems that no thought was given to cover the pitch last night.
This cannot be put at the door of WCFC

Sorry but disagree ,it is your home fixture.Weather forecast was for heavy frost.Someone from YOUR club should have double checked covers would be in place Fri and not rely on Kidderminster. Many Town fans on the way home felt your replay may well have influenced your efforts or lack of them.

If you had been in the ground in the time before the cancellation then you would know that your last comment is far from the truth. To say that everyone was pissed off is a massive understatement. We were looking at a 1000+ gate, whereas we'll be lucky to get much over 500 when the game is re-arranged.

Stupid comments from the Halifax fan!!!!
Assuming we play them Tue 23rd we'll have 5 games in 12 days, starting Wed, and as Niels says A gate of 500 instead of 1000 plus

Unfortunate state of affairs all round, but shaymen2 does have a fair point & you have to feel for the travelling fans. Had we still been at "The Lane" , we would almost certainly have had an early inspection of our own & if it was a case of simply forking the pitch, volunteers would have been there to help. That said, it may be a blessing in disguise for Wednesday night !

Tbf, we're not professional like Halifax, so calling us 'quite amateurish' is probably apt...
Plus their reaction on Tw*tter was far worse!

That said, it may be a blessing in disguise for Wednesday night ! Agree, had the roles been reversed I would not have been happy to find it cancelled at such short notice. Our experience of St Georges Lane, where the stand side was in shade from November to February, would have necessitated an early inspection no matter how severe the frost. Big shame as it was a cloudless sky. Hopefully we can all learn about the climatic conditions that can affect our temporary home for future games. Not a completely wasted journey on my part as I picked up tickets for the replay.

Agreed. WCFC expected Kidderminster to have covered that end of the pitch based on their own experiences over the years. The lesson to be learnt for the future is that WCFC must ensure that it doesn't happen again. The annoying thing apart from everyone getting there ( especially all the Halifax fans, players and officials who have our total sympathy ) was that in the last few years at SGL, the City acquired those fabulous frost covers which can cope with up to -10 degrees, which meant that we hardly had a game called off at SGL as a result. I understand that the SGL covers are in storage for the future, as Kidderminster have their own. There was certainly nothing underhand by the City with Wednesday in mind, as I know that the management certainly didn't want another game over Xmas.

It will still be a tough game on Tuesday, having played Scunthorpe and Stalybridge Celtic, but at least we now have the incentive of another home draw v Alfreton. That game would take place on January 10th., so the games or potential games are now queueing up.

Depends. If we were to beat Scunthorpe tomorrow, as the FA have somehow put the MK Dons / Chesterfield match back to Jan 2nd ( the day before the scheduled 3rd round date ), I suspect that the FA Cup takes precedence over the FA Trophy and we would have to play any 3rd round tie on Sunday 11th. I note that the 4th round date for the FA cup is a fortnight later on Saturday 24th, so if the 3rd round tie also needed a replay, would that too need to get postponed ? As for the Trophy, if the Halifax match on 23rd December ended in a draw , when would that replay take place ? The only time is Tuesday 6th/Wednesday 7th Jan, which would be too late for the next round FA Trophy scheduled date on the 11th ! Added to which we are scheduled to play Bradford PA at home on Sat 10th, which would get moved anyway for Kidderminster's Trophy match ! All that is reliant on the weather not turning bad, and matches not getting postponed to start off with ! Good luck to the fixture secretary - he's could be very busy !

The thing is could we now get some of that support back next Tuesday for this match? There is just as much riding on this one: the final's at Wembley don't forget and we know we can beat almost anyone at this level on our day.
C'mon you fair weather supporters: come and join us!

Well said Tim. i for one will be going to stalybridge on Saturday and the trophy game Tuesday because those guys on the pitch have earnt my support for me it would be disrespectful not to , those kids gave their all last night and showed those premiership prima donnas how to go about your business on a football pitch. i have recently switched from watching stourbridge (when sean left) and I have to say the football I have been watching at worcester games is fantastic, long may it continue.

Now this game has been rearranged it is falling in the school holidays, to keep the support momentum going could the club do some sort of offer like kids go free with a paying adult? Although it may not be possible being a cup game with Halifax sharing gate receipts.

Only problem is the hit on the pocket, but I'm sure we'll find a few bob for City.
I would love to see a crowd of 1500 on Tuesday.
Interesting that worcsbaggie should have "...recently switched from watching stourbridge (when sean left)". I can understand why: the lad is a genius on his day (altho' he had a very quiet game away at Scunthorpe). Perhaps he doesn't enjoy travelling, although having said that he had to travel to Coventry! Long may you continue to support City.

I'm really looking forward to Tuesday night, it's a big task to keep this "winning run" up. But I think the team is uo for it. I'm hoping we get a few extra on the gate on the back of the Scunthorpe game (s), the fact that it's another cup match & the extra interest being shown by our local premier league supporters. Good luck lads....... COME ON YOU BLUE DRAGON CITY BOYS !!

Well here's my two pennorth for what it's worth, I thought we matched them first half especially in midfield. They are a big strong physical side but we showed we can hold our own and not be bullied. Second half they looked stronger as the game went on although it could have gone our way . I think an early season problem was evident again, that is that final ball into the box which was where our play broke down. Hate to say it but the one player who consistently played quality balls into the box was George Williams and this is where we will miss him most. Great to see him get such a good send off from the players and the crowd what a cracking lad he is! Tonight for my money Ellis Deeney had a good game and really battled for us. Tyler was excellent as usual and Hutch at the back looked solid. So we lost narrowly against a strong physical team a league above us, no need for any despondency I am sure we can kick on through the Xmas period and get up into those play off places. That would indeed make it a Merry Xmas and a very Happy New Year!

Very unlucky tonight. I thought that we dominated the quality possession against a big physical side. The key moment was the save from Jordan Murphy on 80 minutes - if that went in we would have won one-nil. I can't remember Nathan vaughn having to make a serious save. I thought the energy levels were again very high, and that Ellis Deeney controlled the game along with Sean Geddes. We have acquitted ourselves very well indeed yet again. The League is now the priority, and if we carry on the level of performance of late, then the wins will come. A signing or two to strengthen the squad will help the play off push. It's been a tremendous season so far, with plenty more to play for. A nice touch from the players towards George Williams showed once again the spirit and camaraderie amongst the team.

Pretty much agree with most comments regarding the game. For what its worth I think the failure to convert chances ultimately cost us, that said I don't think there was one you could call a sitter. There was a lot of good play but we did not seem to extend their keeper enough, he seemed very vulnerable when called upon but made the save to deny Murphy which could have clinched it. Dunkley's shot at the end following a sprint through their defence could have/should have hit the target to possibly earn a draw.
Still it shows the expectations when people are disappointed having extended a team sitting at the top end of the conference.
