No reason why we can't get a result against them. They've been struggling like Coventry.

Yep! Hope all those who made it to Coventry and many more can make it to Scunthorpe and reproduce the support we gave to Carl, Matt and the Team and hopefully spur them on to another victory!

Having been to scunny before the crowd we take will be massively important. Although its a new stadium the crowd is close to the pitch and can create an atmosphere. Main problem as I see it is how many tickets we will get. I doubt many more than 2k. Personally I would rather a team at the bottom end of league one than top end of league two

I think that's a difficult draw, but after Saturday any team is winnable. Let's hope we can get the same or bigger away support !!

Their website says away capacity is just under 1.7k , looks like a Worcester sell out

Lousy draw - hardly a glamour tie, but Scunthorpe are 21st in League One with a goal difference of -11, and Coventry are 19th. If my memory serves me right they were 2-0 up at the Ricoh and Coventry got three back in the 2nd half. So, if we play anything like we did Sunday, it's still winnable.
2 Hrs 36 minutes by road or 3 hrs 38 minutes by train (change at New St and Sheffield).
And, once again, the League side have to do all the worrying!

Oh come on you doubters, this in my opinion a really difficult draw BUT very winnable & likely to be a televised match. We need to find a way of getting a massive support to get behind our team......... Why worry about just the "away end" hopefully we might fill one of the sides as well. Onwards & upwards.

Jimbo, I couldn't agree more. It could be a lot worse. Winnable ? Certainly drawable. They are struggling in League 1 ( below Coventry ) and again the pressure will be all on them, none on us. After yesterday, anything is possible. Danny Jackman wanted amongst others Barnsley away, so the team and fans have to hopeful after yesterday. The capacity is 9,088. The ticketing could be interesting as the away South Stand end has a capacity of 1,678, with additional seats in the West Stand made available for big " local derby type "games. How many ? Who knows ? Looking at their attendances this season, for local derbies on a Saturday vs Doncaster, they only got 5,420, and for Notts County it was only 4,008. If they can't get a really big crowd for Doncaster then based on this, I would think that they could accommodate and indeed would want to, all of City's ticket requests ? It's less than 3 hours away, and I can imagine another massive away following. Why not ?

Got to agree with you as well alwaysnextyear They need the money as much as us & will accommodate as many as possible. Ok it's nearly 3 hours away, but a straight forward easy journey. I think we'll have a massive following, let's face it, as on Sunday this is yet another final for us. Nothing to lose & everything to gain.

Trouble is a TV game whilst good for money would probably signicantly reduce the fair weather support. On TV and I would only expect us to take 1- 1.5k max. Maybe less if a Friday night. Hopefully the BBC will see sense and put Blyth as a night game as both clubs are local

Great draw for us. Easy ground as well, straight off the motorway, round an island and into the ground. Refreshments reasonably priced as well. This really is a great draw and sets up for the next round against....... Liverpool? Villa?
[What a damned shame they idiotically banned football rattles, a sound that was synonymous with FA cup matches. The sound of 17,000 rattles against Liverpool was awesome.]

I would agree with Prestonwcfc that the Blyth Spartans game would look favourite for the Friday night game. As Tim says let Scunthorpe do the worrying about their "unknown" opposition. I must say even leaving Sunday's excitement to one side (if it is possible!) I think the BBC are doing a good job in their coverage of the Cup and the non-league game. The pundits on Sunday gave an interesting insight into what goes through a League player mind when playing non-league cup opposition. They went below the normal rhetoric you hear, e.g we'll treat them with respect, etc. etc. the message was clear - they do not like it!
A Colchester United friend e-mailed me to say he thought City v United would be a good draw. He almost got it with Colchester next out of the hat after City.

Hello guys. Bit of info from Scunthorpe. I think you will get 2200 tickets maximum. The away end holds 1690 and then you will get around 500 tickets down one of the sides in a little corner. In the last 10 years that has been the maxium and hasn't changed even when demand has been there. Leeds and a couple of other Championship sides requested 4000 tickets when we were in there but only got the 2200. I'm looking forward to it. Part of me hopes it isn't on TV as moving it will no doubt knock a few off the gate. The TV money would be nice but I wouldn't say we necessarily need the money. We have one of the highest budgets in L1 though so a cup run would be nice! We haven't got a home game until we play you - so there should be a decent home gate. Hopefully the club will reduce prices and we can get 6/7,000 in. We will have had four away games on the spin before we play you! We started off poorly but since sacking Russ Wilcox (now at York) things have improved. Mark Robins is starting to stamp his authority on the side we look quite useful. We were poor at Forest Green but thoroughly deserved the win at Peterborough and could have won by more the week before. We also won Coventry 2-1 at our place this year. It will probably the only chance you get to come and see Glanford Park, because we are moving into a new stadium in 2016. Looking forward to seeing a full away end- there won't be many teams who fill it this season. All welcome on www.iron-bru.com for a bit of pre match banter!

Thanks ironbrunet. Lots of your fans on your message board think it's a probable live tv game.
TV money would be fantastic for us at Worcester. We need all the money we can get. We are ground sharing at our neighbors Kidderminster at the moment.
I think we would fill 2,200 - whether it's on tv or not. Scunthorpe's ground holds over 9000, so it would be a shame if Worcester fans (even if they are casual fans without season tickets etc) miss out - as it would no way be a sell out.

This is all seated and can house 1,650 supporters. For Cup games if demand requires it, then extra seats can be made available in the south half of the West Stand up to 2,200. This would give us around 3,800 seats. I can't see more than 4,000 Scunny fans turning out for this game, even if its a 3pm saturday kick off. So everybody who wants go, should be able to go.

I'm pretty sure it will be all ticket for away fans and you will get 1650, rising to 2200 if demand is there.
I'd expect it will be pay on the day for the home terrace unless you fill the allocation and then they pick up on the fact that there may be some away fans in home ends. If this happens, it will be all ticket. SUFC is all ticket for seating for every league fixture anyway so I expect this to continue.
We haven't given any team a bigger allocation at Glanford Park for a good 15 years so I don't expect us to do so for you, regardless of how many we sell. You are likely to get 2200 and that will be your lot.

If your right and Scunny do that, your just end up with City "fans" going in the "home" end/sides, stupid really, when the ground is plenty big enough to take everybody who wants to watch the match.

As it's not that far ahead.........Does anyone know when there's likely to be an official announcement on the match date, ticket allocation, prices etc ?? I'm sure I'm not the only one who may need to organise things in advance.

Ironbrunet, I think you & SUFC may be under estimating the WCFC likely support for this match. If it's not televised live, I'm sure we will bring more support than you have seen in the last 15 years. Your club must bear in mind that this is (like CCFC) another final for us & we do think another winnable tie. Good luck to you, but here's hoping a Worcester win.

Im not underestimating your support. I just don't think you will be given more than 2200 tickets. We've refused in the past and will do so again.

We're not live on TV then: BBC have gone for Monkey Hangers v Blyth on Friday night BBC coverage BT Sport: Gateshead v Warrington Town (sunday at noon) and Colchester United v Peterborough United (Sunday at 4:30pm) BT Sport coverage BBC doing the same final score show so I guess it's likely we will be part of this and game will be on the Sunday.
