It will not have escaped the regular , shrewd and discerning readers of this board but I think it's well worth mentioning anyway - the massive contribution George Williams has made lately to our goal scoring. I recall his superb pass to Nick Wright which preceded his goal against Harrogate; George himself scored against Gainsborough; and yesterday a beautiful ball not space allowed Jordan Murphy to score and George's beautifully flighted cross onto Symo's head made the equaliser. I am sure if I dug a little deeper we would find George has been responsible for 'assists' with other City goals this season. I think he was a superb find, I know he was player of the year last season, and I think he has been even better so far this season. I hesitate to mention it, but I do think he is capable of playing at a higher level. There was a scout from somewhere (Coventry??) sitting next to me making copious notes during the game and his pen was working overtime whenever George made a contribution. That said I bet if do get a goal at the Ricoh George will play some part in it. Here's hoping!

Your observations are very true. Leamington rarely attacked down the left wing on Saturday which I can only imagine was because they got very few results down that side during the recent FA Cup games because of George's current form. It is also worth mentioning that the team appears to working well this season as a unit and covering each other when needed. Full backs are only as good as the cover they get from the centre-half and midfielder on that side; Hutch does a great job supporting George in defence.

I have a horrible feeling that as a result of the cup-tie exposure George will get noticed and we'll lose him to a higher graded club: he is too good to play at this level really. Still, let's enjoy him while we've got him!

Still, let's enjoy him while we've got him! Do you remember John Barton, right back, during our cup run of '79. The victory over Plymouth was his last game for us before he was signed by Everton for a record fee for a non-league player. Is that an omen for this weekend? Hopefully a victory and we hang on to George for a bit longer.

I hope it's an omen, but also hope we do, as you say, and "hang on to George for a bit longer."
