Build a new team around these guys: Daniel Nti George Williams Ellis Deeney Graham Hutchinson Tyler Weir Ebby Nelson Addy Aaron Brown
If we can keep Devaney, Thomas, Shab and Veiga too, that would be great. The rest... I think we could find better.

By my reckoning we haven't scored a goal from open play in the last five matches, the last being against Vauxhall Motors; it is obvious we need to do something about our strike force. Only Workington have scored less goals than us. So I'd say our present front runners (Moore, A WIlliams and Farrell) have to go.
Sign up the entire defence: after all we've conceded less goals than many in our league. It's just scoring them that's the problem.

I don't think the returns from Nti and Moore are that bad 15 and 12 for young players is a decent return. Bearing in mind Moore played second fiddle to Glover & co for the majority of the season. Symo I think only managed 12 or so last season with the team going 7/8 games without scoring. I have seen every home game this seasom and I haven't been impressed by general play in the final third. At times the midfield has gone missing, strikers have been left issolated or played out of position.

Offer contracts to : Veiga/Bedwell [either one of these are good enough] G Williams Weir Hutch Thomas Deeney Devaney Nti [on 2nd half season form]
Try to keep Aaron Brown and Shab, others such as Moore, A Williams,Munday,Farrell are ok for squad players but not first 11 choice. Obviously everything depends on the available budget but one thing is for certain,we are desperate for a goalscorer.

"I see that Phil Trainer has been released by Nuneaton; I thought he was class when he was here.
Does he figure in Carl's plans anywhere I wonder?"
I wrote that on May 2nd: now I see he is training with City: delighted to read it.

Yep, good news that: no mention though of Daniel Nti or Ebby Nelson-Addy.
Plus I'd love to see Wayne Thomas back and give us another season.

Good news that is 4 players that Solihoof cannot pinch! Understand Tyler was on the radar of a few clubs.

I am disappointed Aaron Brown has gone to Solihull. They'll soon have an all ex-City team.
It would be great to have Wayne Thomas back: I thought he was the catalyst to our turnaround. One of the best defenders to pull on a City shirt since I started watching them in 1956-57 season.

Was AB offered a deal for the new season or if so was it the same terms? Moors seem to be signing a lot of centre halves are they replacing some leavers in that position?

Am delighted to read on City's website that Wayne Thomas has signed for another season. I cannot think of a more influential player in recent years. I credit him with helping to turn our season round at Christmas time. He is also a big influence on the younger players: Hutchison, Tyler Weir, Ellis Deeney and George Williams walked a bit taller after he arrived in my opinion.
Great news.

Very good news about Thomas. However I'm not bothered about Brown. He was awesome in his first month and must have scared the wits out of opponents with his big frightening beard. However as soon as he became clean shaven he lost all his fight and was more often than not the worst player on the pitch, and didn't deserve his place in the team.

Great news.[/quote A very shrewd comment Tim I really do agree that Wayne Thomas is not only a great defender but his leadership on the field was outstanding. I remember at Leamington we were a well beaten team but with just a couple of minutes to go he was still shouting and encouraging his younger colleagues which impressed me greatly. With the players already signed we have the skeleton of a competitive side next season in what promises to be an even tougher League.

I believe there may be more good news in the next day or so regarding a returning ex-City forward.

It will not be Kristian Ramsey Dickson as he has re-signed for Stourbridge. He was that good a striker that Stour played him in the back four!

If returning means someone who went off somewhere else then who could it be? And do centre forwards still exist?

Well it can either be Glover, Danks or Symmo. Not the first two. Taylor has been invited back by Solihull Moors so it cannot be him.
Birley released by Solihull it would appear.
Was Symmo that good against us while at Oxford...not sure.
Would love to see Ryan Rowe signed up, could do a decent job for us I think

I don't think Symmo's heart was in it while he played for Oxford. We'll have to wait and see if it's him. I am hopeful.
