Hi Everyone, In an attempt to raise funds for the Trust/Club, I am currently planning to run a Christmas raffle and am just sorting out the raffle tickets with the printers and hopefully some posters to advertise the draw.
Prizes include:-
A 40 pint pint barrel of 8% Biddenden dry cider A 35 pint box of Westons Mulled Cider A food and wine hamper A sweet hamper A set of six different coloured WCFC mugs with mug stand A framed set of the full 67 WCFC badges I have ever issued (one of only five being made containing all 67 badges) A bottle of 10 year old 'Taylors' tawny port A bottle of English sparkling wine A box of hand made chocolates from the 'Chocolate Deli' in New Street A 2 lb Christmas pudding in ceramic bowl A Ceramic Bull Dog biscuit jar with cookies A Tin of biscuits
I hope you will all help the Trust/club by supporting the raffle and would appreciate any help anyone can provide in selling tickets to friends, family, work mates, neighbours etc. I have already arranged to sell tickets via the Plough, Paul Pry and Dragon public houses but if any of you are friendly with the landlords of other pubs and wine bars in and around Worcester, plus of course any shops that would be willing to sell tickets on our behalf and you would act as my liaison with such establishments I would appreciate it. All ticket stubs, proceeds and unsold tickets to be collected around the City by Friday 20th December and returned to me at Aggborough during the match so I can add those to any sold at Aggborough and ensure they are entered into the draw to take place at 5 p.m. after the match on 21st December at Aggboroughin the Aggborough Suite. In the event the the match is called of due to the weather, I will make arrangements to make the draw in one of the participating public houses instead and will post a message on here to advise which one, should that happen. Many thanks

Hi Lee, I must admit I had not considered that. I suppose I am a bit old school and have always preferred the personal approach but I could have a word with Rich Widdowson tomorrow night.

Niels, I think you might be eating your words when you see what I have sourced. It is not a cheap wooden version but you can view what you think of as the offending article tomorrow as a display version bedecked with the set of six coloured mugs will be on display in the Aggborough Suite. I can show it to you through the window if the altitude is too high and air too thin for you up there. Ha! Ha!

There will be no eating of words. Mug Tree's are the work of the devil, however posh they are!

Brilliant, well done "K", to be fair to Neils I don't like mug trees but a WCFC 1 would find a place in my humble abode!! I'll have trouble getting to the next couple of games & am not in a position to sell them, but will defo buy some.... & will gladly put up a couple of bottles (or something) to help the number of prizes to boost the number of prizes.

Also; 15 or 20 years ago I helped organise a sponsor raffle, it may be too late for this one & I haven't got time to help organise it. But at that time I approached most top flight teams for a pair of tickets & got 3 or 4 (yes that's all that would help a non league team). I also approached all the ferry companies & got a return ticket to France, a few local companies put a prize in & I was lucky enough in those days to have a contact in the hotel trade who managed to get a 5* hotel in London for a night. Sorry I haven't got time this year, but I hope this gives you & a few others some ideas. Perhaps next year we could make this raffle a massive event !

Niels have you been making a close study of me? I thought I made a good job of hiding my red horns and tail in public. Beware the curse of the mug tree!

Many thanks to all of those who have taken books of raffle tickets away to sell for me, it is much appreciated. Could I just remind all concerned that I would like all stubs, takings and unsold tickets returned to me before the raffle draw at 5 p.m. on Saturday 21st December, so I have time to fold up tickets and insert them into the drum. Also don't forget to get people to include their addresses and or phone numbers so we can try to deliver prizes on Sunday 22nd to any parties not present for the draw on the 21st.
If there are any other people who are willing and able to sell tickets be it to family, friends, work colleagues etc, please see me this coming Sunday afternoon in the Aggborough Suite before or during the match with Oxford City. Remember all proceeds go to the Trust/Club to assist with the Perdiswell Stadium project, as all prizes have been donated so no costs will be taken from the funds raised. Thanks for your support.

Hi There, This is just a reminder that the Christmas raffle takes place this coming Saturday. Would all those kind people who are helping me by trying to sell the tickets on my behalf could you try to sell any unsold tickets before Saturday if you can. Please also remember to bring the ticket stubs, takings and unsold tickets with you on Saturday or pass them on to someone who is going to the game if for whatever reason you cannot make the game. I will be upstairs in the 'Aggborough Suite' at the ground to receive the said ticket stubs, takings and unsold tickets,so if you would be kind enough to deliver them to me before or during the game, so I have time to fold all ticket stubs and insert them in the raffle drum before 5 p.m. You will also be able to see all the raffle prizes displayed on match day prior to the draw. Thanks again for all of your help and support.

Hi Everyone, I am looking at the ticket stubs returned so far and have one signed as what looks like 'G Wick'(?), with a five digit number. The ticket numbers are 1946 through to 1949. Can the person concerned or someone who knows this person confirm if that name is correct or not and complete what I assume are the last five digits of a phone number, so should they be a winner we have a full phone number by which to contact you/them by? Also if you could let us know where you live, not the full address, as we will get that when we call you should you be a winner, I just want the town or city i.e. Worcester, Droitwich, Ledbury etc, so we know where to deliver your prize if you win, so we can plan a delivery schedule should that be required. Many thanks

The old Worcester Central exchange is now The Postal Order pub BTW.

Hi there, Sorry this is 24 hours later than planned but I stayed up in Worcester for an extra 24 hours to try and deliver as many of the unclaimed prizes in and around Worcester on both Saturday evening and on some out of town winners in Droitwich, Kidderminster and Shrewsbury so only got home this after noon after my attempts to contact a Worcester winner and a Birmingham failed so will try to deliver those at the weekend if I can make contact with the winners. I would just like to thank all those who sold tickets and those who assisted folding the many tickets prior to the draw and a special mention for young Sophia Bazley who made a great job of drawing the tickets. Right this will be a long list so will probably be spread over more than one message.
my apologies for any incorrect names or spellings as I am reading from the list compiled by Jane who was frantically trying to get the details down and keep up with the draw and the writing on some tickets was not always clear.
