Has been released. Disappointed at that news. I thought he was our best keeper. He has made some brilliant saves whenever he's played. Thanks for your efforts Matt. Good luck wherever you go.

I'll second that, it must have been tough for him under studying Jimmy Dormand, then Glynn Thompson and now Jose Viega. He seems a shy unassuming chap and on the whole when I have seen him play he's demonstrated he's a good keeper. I remember in particular one magnificent one handed save at the Lane last season from a close range diving header which he somehow managed to lift over the bar. He's still a young man and in fairness to him he needs to be playing not sitting on the bench, I reckon he will do well wherever he goes and see no reason why he can't play at our level or above in the future. Many thanks Matt, I shall watch your future career with interest.

It's a shame but inevitable. I think he's a great keeper and I hope other City fans feel likewise.
However I think his fate was sealed at Cheltenham when Gloucester scored their second goal. Carl thought Matt could have done better and brought Jose in immediately.
I get the impression Jose isn't everybody's cup of tea but he's kept a lot of clean sheets and was outstanding against Lincoln last Saturday. I think he's made a real difference.
Clearly Matt needs to be playing and letting him go rather than sending him out on loan will save money. I'll be interested to see whether we have a sub goalkeeper tomorrow.

Sorry to see this. A good servant to the City. Thanks for your efforts Matt.
That save down at Weston in injury time in last season's FA cup in particular will stay with me for some time to come for sure.

Matt is now playing at Halesowen town and made his debut on Tuesday night against kidsgrove and helped his side to a 2-0 victory. Best of luck for the future, sorry to see you leave us.
