Well, after over a hundred years, messrs Boddy and Sorenson, as well as others from earlier years (they know who they are), have finally destroyed St George's Lane and our heritage.
Many of us are hoping that these two inept directors are charged with fiscal irrectitude before too long.
Furthermore I cannot believe that Mr Heeley thinks this is something we should all be celebrating today and I would hope that he realises the offensiveness of his idiotic statement and apologises to the crowd via the tannoy this afternoon. Nobody will be "celebrating" Carl, we will be too annoyed and abject.
Some of us have been wending our way down the Lane for 60 years or more and seen successive directors who have served this club a great disservice. This goes back to 60's and 70's when there was great talk about many fingers in the till but no prosecutions were ever brought, sadly.
I must warn Boddy and Sorenson that if they have the nerve to turn up today they will be left in no doubt as to the ire of many fans and supporters.

I really hope that Worcester City win today. It will be a fitting tribute to a fantastic ground. I never got to say a proper goodbye to The Moorlands, although I was at the last ever game there, I did not it was going to be.
St George's Lane will leave a big void for everyone and whilst I have not seen the comments by Carl, I think today IS a celebration of the good times and memories that all Worcester fans have had at St Georges Lane, rather than a celebration of the fact that Worcester City are moving.
To all Worcester fans, have a fantastic day.

A very sad day. I'm too upset to attend, and will spend the day in mourning.

A sad day, but a performance that made me proud. Up the City.

I would like to congratulate and send a very, very big thank you to The Chairman, the current Board, especially Rich W and all the volunteers for a magnificent afternoon and for all they're doing to try and steer the Club forward through such a difficult time. They are doing an amazingly good job, with scant resources, and City fans could not ask for more. With people such as these running the Club and the Aid of the Supporters Trust there is cause for hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. Let's all pull together and try to get there and keep this great Club afloat.
It was wonderful to see the Lane so full, 4,000 plus, and so fitting that the sun should be shining and yet it also be raining as the players walked off. Let's hope it's next stop Perdiswell, via Kidderminster and a long and successful future.

I also brought along 3 (neutral) mates from 'up north' (well, Derbyshire) who thoroughly enjoyed the day and the welcoming atmosphere Report of game from the Chester side: quite fair, stating we should've had a draw from the game. www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/chester-fc/2013/04/27/worcester-city-0-chester-fc-1-george-horan-earns-10-man-blues-battling-final-day-victory-59067-33247024/

What a brilliant day-whole family loved it.
What happened to the Chester school-boy crew 2nd half?? Paper round? obviously too many E numbers to start with. Very poor turn out by them

Very poor turn out by them Asked to leave the ground following the opening minutes of trouble in which one punched a steward, upon leaving the ground they were escorted by West Merica on foot back to Foregate Street and put onto the next train out of here !

Very unusual day. Sad and yet really happy as well. Sad for all the obvious reasons but the happiness? It really brought home to me just what a fantastic bunch of people the supporters of Worcester City are. As a pretty unemotional type of guy as a rule I can never remember being hugged and shaking hands with so many people before in my entire life. Some of whom I know very well and others who I have gone no further with in the past than a friendly nod whilst passing at some place in the ground.Missed on or two who I would have liked to have seen but that was bound to happen.I hope our paths will cross at Aggborough and then again when we return to the city where we belong. We all owe it to ourselves to make sure this wonderful club does not die!!!!

Was superb of them to also open the gates post match to allow fans onto the pitch to take photos, etc.
Also thanks to Rich Widd who also let myself and some friends the chance to go in and look around the changing rooms - some had never seen them before, a nice opportunity for them to be able to do so.

Prior to heading North today we spent an hour or so at the river and in the Cathedral. Turning a corner in the Cloisters I swore I heard a football crowd. Indeed it was - a musical recording playing in a loop called "Saturday Worship" - football crowd sounds inter-mingled with angelic singing of the 23rd Psalm! A poignant end to a bitter sweet weekend!
Well done to everyone involved with making a difficult day a memorable one. It was great to see fans allowed on to the pitch after the crowds had dispersed. A special well done to those involved in producing the match day programme - a great souvenir.

What an excellent day. The fans were brilliant. Having a band playing prior to the start greatly added to the occasion. A full house with the sun shining most of the time. The team putting in a fine performance against the runaway champions. The applause at the end for both teams. I am sure even the Chester players were moved. Indeed I saw the Chester keeper hand his gloves over to a young fan at the end. Made you feel good to be alive. It shows what can be achieved.
But in many ways it was a surreal day one difficult to put into words. All supporters have their own memories and I can empathise with the previous comments on this subject. While being at the game there was this feeling that it was all over too quickly. I appeared to drift off in my thoughts replaying previous games, thankfully my oldest who is 25 would chime in with his own memories of when he was a nipper and one would return back to the here and now.
I suspect that for many supporters there will be a delayed reaction in the near future when the reality sinks in. At the moment I am not sure which stage I am at.
But one hopes that this is just the end of a chapter and not the book. This day showed that with the current staff there are grounds for optimism - excuse the pun. Up the city.

Just been listening to Radio 5 Non League Podcast.....
They ended the download with a piece from BBC H&W about the end of SGL - a bit hard to listen to I have to say. It's hard to get my head round the reality of us not having a home any more...despite the fact it's been coming for a long time
So.....onwards and upwards

A really sad day but a great occasion to see off the lane. Lets hope we last the few years at Kidderminster and return to a packed house again with marching band at perdiswell in a few years! Fingers crossed!

I am surfacing now after a real downer following the final whistle on Saturday, and feel it is no good looking back (wonderful though the memories are); we have to look forward to the future. This may be the start of a new era - who knows??
Up the City!

Hi guys, Tamworth fan here currently exiled in Worcester, went to the game against Chester , hasnt been my only game at SGL however.
Other than the Chester Muppets giving it large at the start of the match, have to say what a fantastic send off, could feel the sense of emotion around the ground and it was a fitting tribute, the match itself was very entertaining though thought you should of at least got a point.
One thing I do have to say out your team however is the decision making of the players at times was shocking... there were countless time the ball was passed to nobody, shooting from distances they wont ever score at and not crossing the ball in when they should, and missing the 1 on 1's with the keeper speak for themself.
Just want to wish the club and all the supporters good luck next season, its such a fantastic club and as an outsider looking in you can really see that. Really hope the plans for a new stadium go through as the city really needs it.

Well thanks for that , but I don't think anyone really cared a great deal about the football, not even the players, and thats fully understandable. The day was all about the ground, and that was all that really mattered.

Just in case anyone still has doubt that St Modwen simply used the football club as a Trojan Horse for a property deal at Nunnery Way, here is their latest application for a retail site without the necessary football ground. WCFC was used and abused by SMD and its agents, in order to get this retail park, the final twist being a deal with the city council to relieve WCFC from the contracts, so long as they could apply for a much larger development on the site! bit.ly/PgSdg1This whole debacle has cost WCFC its home, its history, and about £5 million!! What has it cost SMD? two tenths of diddly squat, and they get what they've always wanted on the site. Dave Boddy, you were told that this would happen by many trained and knowledgeable people, yet you ignored every piece of good advice. Shareholders of WCFC, you were told that this was the route that the club would go down, yet you voted for the "Dream Team" who have all now left the building! Supporters, you were told by the Supporters Trust and you told us we were fools! I sometimes think that football clubs get the supporters they deserve, and if there is a silver lining to come from a £5m black cloud, it is that those supporters now prepared to invest in a homeless, penniless football club playing at Aggborough are at least the supporters the football club now needs to see it through.

We will be back, stronger and better and without that muppet around, he isnt exactly loved by Newport County fans. And also without SMD having a hold on the club.
The time to support the Trust is now, doesnt matter now whats gone on before....support the Trust, Perdiswell could well be our last chance !!
The best thing for the council to do is reject this for Nunnery Way and keep them stringing along

Quote from SMD in their latest application. "The current proposal, which will play an important part in meeting the employment development needs of the City, should be understood in this context. SMD’s release of WCFC from its obligations demonstrates a significant act of goodwill to support the future of an important community institution, and an act of faith in the ambitions of the City to meet its development needs and promote growth, including the development at Nunnery Way". Warms the heart.

Creaner, yes I was also touched by their generosity on that one!! How disingenuous can you get? After stringing the club along for so many years without putting in an application at Nunnery Way, whilst the club lost money and were eventually forced into a fire sale with Careys for SGL (if Careys had said they'd buy for just £2 million, Hampson would still have had to go with the sale!) that statement just takes the piss! If you knew how little money came back to the club in the end, it would make you cry with anger. The job that the current board is doing is nothing short of phenomenal, but just goes to show that, if you ditch the crazy dreams of league football, you can actually put together a workable model. The Trust still has some serious hurdles to overcome, one of which is building a bigger brand and more credibility. Truth be told, football fans lack credibility. It needs some heavy hitters to get involved. I believe that this might be happening, but it is definitely needed. When local businesses with clout get involved (SMD could have always engaged in a community scheme, given how community focussed they are - well after the shareholders have been paid), and the talking heads are more head than talk, then we will have what we need. Out of interest, is Robin Walker MP a member?
