Learn to spell son; it's Carl Heeley and he's way past playing as he is currently our manager, and no way can I see him becoming assistant to Graham Hyde. He has too much of a job on his hands here at Worcester to join another sinking ship.

Maybe you should get your facts right too mr HEELEY is being lined up as our new manager as Graham Hyde left the club yesterday! Apparently he is coming as part time manager and someone called Gardner will be his full time assistant.

I have heard that 2. You can't blame him when we are so strapped for cash and no ground. The possibility of managing a club at a superb ground with a more money and in the premiership (at the moment) has got to be a big pull and he can get them out too! I know he is worcester thru and thru but got to repsct someone for wanting to improve themselves

Would be a strange one. Not sure Telford is a terribly big step up from Worcester
It's almost 100% certain we'll be in same league next year

We have an INTERIM manager. Healey will be coming at the end of the seaon. Mark my words! I know a thing or two about what is going on at AFCT He works apparently and will be part time but Gardner will be full time as his 2nd in command

Which words do you want us to mark? That your next manager will be some Healey/Gardner you know of and we dont or Worcester's Heeley/Gardiner combo?.
Anyway, your problem is not your Club manager, it is your players, isnt it? Your management record this season is an embarrassment, isnt it? Makes Chelsea look like they are a rock of stability. What chance does a fifth management team in a year have? Sinton, Cooper, Hyde, Psaras/Young/Trainer/Meechan, Healey/Gardner or Heeley/Gardiner? - so, what are your real, core problems? Does Lee Carter really know?
Got to be expensive to resolve such problems, hasnt it? Maybe they are so embedded, you need an interim team of four to resolve them?

Cannot call Hyde a manager, his record so far ..
Redditch - Quit Boston - Quit Telford - Quit
Why on earth he was given the job to start with I just don't know !
In fairness to Cooper hasn't he left to be Assistant Manager at Swindon ?

I wouldnt dismiss this rumour out of hand. Carl is under pressure from certain factions on the terraces. He's hamstrung by lack of resources, he may wish to prove himself elsewhere, where he can work with the players he wants, not just the players he can get. I'd understand that kind of ambition, it must be pretty frustrating just treading water and getting little credit for doing a fantastic job for doing that.

Jem, I wouldnt dismiss it out of hand either. They are an obvious target for Lee Carter. Hopefully, Carl and Matt appreciate the credit they get from those who appreciate everything they do, and the circumstances in which they are working.
If they do both decide to move on at some stage, then I, you and some others will surely wish them every success in their choice. A full-time management job for Matt Gardiner may be something that he interested in as a career move.
But Telford are a management basket case at the moment, and their issue isnt their managers.
Plus, leaking any rumour at this moment is surely pernicious, given this is the time of the season that Worcester will be negotiating player contracts (and new signings for next season). Carl and Matt surely have to do that from a Worcester City perspective, not anyone else's - especially if they are heading to a team that is likely to be playing in the same league - and therefore potentially a conflict of interest in respect of Worcester players. Would rather that was given the opportunity to be resolved internally first, not triggered by a Telford leaker.
By the way, Carl Heeley was mentioned once about a week ago on the Telford MB - among ten or twenty other potential candidates.

I am sure carl would not want to be the manager to take WCFC down as a relegated club Next season with no ground and what has to be a vastly reduced budget will make his job neigh on impossible I too would not dismiss this out of hand. Telford are a big club, have superb facilities and if Carl can carry on in his full time job and manage part time and for Gards to go back into football full time as I know he wants to, it all makes perfect sense. I am sure Carl would want to see this season out, he will want to be in charge for the very last game at the Lane. i would not be surprised if a deal had been done for him to see out this season and take over next season. Handy for his home too. You really can not blame him for being ambitiouds. I would love both of them to stay but would be the first to say congrats if he has got the job.

Another reason why he wouldn't go yet but might at the end of the season is that Carl & Matt are under contract and would need to give notice and Telford wouldn't want to pay for them both to go. They will have to give a minimum 4 weeks and that takes us close to seasons end .

Loyalty of any kind is such a very rare commodity in football today and is virtually non-existent BUT Carl is a City Man at heart, he has lived and breathed the club since becoming Manager and I do not believe that he would leave with the Club at a low point being forced to leave SGL and with a struggle for existence in the immediate future. in any event he has done a magnificent job for us so far and I do hope he stays next year.

Yes he's a City man, but he must also have ambitions. He probably sees that he's done all he can with the club. An offer from elsewhere, considering the terrible situation WCFC is in, must be very tempting. I think it would be extremely understandable were he to go. Sad, but understandable.
Good luck Carl, all the best, and thanks for all you've done.

Whether there is any truth in the situation or not, the story is now out there. Steve Carley will run it, if it had any substance Carl will presumably give a quote to the effect that he's only focussing on City between now and the end of the season. Otherwise - and hopefully - he will dismiss it. Good luck to them both if they do move, but Telford hardly seems the most stable club right now - how many managers have they gone through in the last couple of years?
I also hope these rumours don't undermine what happens on the pitch. No doubt the team will pick up on it as well.

Oh well lets not all get too down and despondent about this, it's just a rumour at the moment. I seem to remember there were reports at the end of last season that Carl was heading for Hereford and he gave those short shrift by saying "as far as I am concerned I am the Manager of Worcester City until someone tells me different". Lets hope we get a similar robust response this time. If the Telford job is really on offer I think a lot may depend upon how many of the key players in the current squad want to commit for next season; what the budget is likely to be for next year; whether Matt G plans to stay on; and much we all make it known that we do not want a change of management. Lets hope it's just a rumour that goes away.

Echo all the plaudits for what Carl has done at City
But I would think Telford would be looking to bounce straight back to the Premier division - and would seek a manager who has such experience (e.g. Wilkin at Nuneation). Some good managers also out of work right now e.g. Marcus Law.
So I think Carl would be a bit of a punt for Telford. One I would hope they choose not to take!

The reason I said that Carl and Matt may be an obvious target for Lee Carter is in light of this ...
"Lee Carter said at the Fans Forum that the next manager will have to understand what the club is all about, that we are a Part Time Fans Owned community club. He will have to work with a tight budget and to bring in players that are prepared to also accept and support the clubs values."
That would narrow the field somewhat, wouldnt it?
As Stamoo has said, this is just a rumour emanating from a Telford fan. There is no mention of it on Telford MB, where there is more talk of Marcus Bignot and Kevin Wilkin.

Carl has proved his capability working on almost no budget. He understands the culture and concept of a part time fan based club, as opposed to a full time operation. In fact, putting it this way, he seems the ideal man for Telford!! I wish WCFC was a part time fan owned club, but unfortunately the majority of City fans aren't so enlightened. Most fans aren't until s*** finally hits the fan, literally and metaphorically.

IT'S OK!!! Panic over, rest easy. I have it on good authority from Bucksboy that this rumour is a smokescreen for the real story which is that John Psaras is an interim appointment because the new manager they have lined up cannot get released before the end of the season, it's some foreigner called Mourinho and his number two will be a DeMatteo (never heard of them myself!).
