I will miss my first home game of the season when City play Hucknall Town on 21 April 2007, as I will be in London preparing for the Flora London Marathon that takes place on the following day. I have run three marathons in the past and have been in training for the London race since last September in and around Fernhill Heath and Warndon Villages (usually whilst listening to dire away performances on Saturday afternoons). On the big day I will be wearing number 2418 on my turquoise Cancer Research vest - I hope to finish in under 3:30. I am using my participation in the marathon to support two causes close to the hearts of many City fans; Cancer Research and Acorns Childrens Hospice. If you would like to help me raise funds for these two worthy causes please visit www.justgiving.com/nickvcancer or www.justgiving.com/nick4acorns. Alternatively see me by the away dugout at the Worksop game on Saturday (or in the Harry Knowles Lounge before the kick off). Thanks to those of you who have already supported me.
