Decent game today. We struggled with the 4-3-3 formation, but looked a much better side when Carl changed to 4-2-2. Substitutions also made a big difference, especially Breeze and Reece, who both looked lively.. With better choices in the final 3rd the score could have have been far more comfortable.
Overall, well pleased with more to come, and Thorley again was outstanding!!!!!

4-2-2 that's a new formation.
Don't think the shape changed just the personnel, valuable three points with some above us losing today.

It was on our results page immediately after the game as such too. No idea where the various news outlets got their figure as we officially reported it as 806 at half time.

I also noticed that we appeared to have drawn 0-0 away to Gainsborough last week and sit on 16 points according to that website

Perhaps it's just me but I thought it was scrappy yesterday. Yes we worked hard but I thought the penalty decision was a bit fortunate. But it sounds like Carl had a gameplan and it worked.

I agree. It was one of those pens that you shout for when it will be in your favour(usually more in hope than expectation)but would be fuming if it was given against you.If I had been the ref I have to say I don't think I would have given it but that's probably why I'm not one(apart from being almost too old and definitely too fat!)

Just good to get the three points. Droylsden have been a bit of a bogey side for us. Was surprised that Birley was substituted: yes, I know he gave the ball away for their goal, but thought he'd had a decent game up to then.
I also thought the pen was a bit fortunate: and having looked at the video replay I'm even more convinced it wasn't a pen. Still, next time it could work against us, so we'll take it.

Thanks for the video highlights. The pitch looks in great shape and with only one club playing on it this season may just prove to be our secret weapon come January/February, Cracking downward header to create the first goal - almost impossible for the keeper to deal with. On only the evidence of the video clip - and action replay - definite penalty! Excusing the pun the Bloods defender was all over Matt Breeze like a leech!
