My prediction on the score was wrong. But Colwyn Bay were a hard side to beat.
A win and a clean sheet must be good for City.
Not a particularly good game. But as they say if you can win when not playing well then things are going your way.

Marooned up in Cumbria, so was glad of the internet cover. Didn't sound a particularly good game, but - hey - a 2-0 win is not to be despised. Colwyn Bay were a difficult side to beat last year if I remember rightly. At the moment we are playing twice a week (yes, I know it's the same for everyone) and I think the players are a bit jaded.
Here's hoping for another three points at Histon on Tuesday. How did Jacob Rowe fare? I like him alongside Whitehead myself.

A good result! How often do you see teams down to 10 men holding up well against 11? Quite often! A good, consistent and steady start and slowly building up a goal difference.
The trip to Histon will be important - it is these mid-week away games where points need to be won and are so often the achilles heel of teams with good "Saturday" form.
Interesting comments about players feeling jaded so early in the season but a two-games-a-week start must takes its toll. I see Histon played 10 games before the start of the league season!
Well done to Worcester News for the improvements to its match feed - automatic updates and red banners for goals!

A master class in not playing particularly well but still winning.
Colwyn Bay could have been one or two up before TT scored.
For more than half the game they were down to 10 men, with an outfield player in goal and two defenders on yellow cards.
But I thought they did really well after the sending off and perhaps that shows how competitive our division is this season.
With successive away trips coming up I appreciate how tough it must be playing two games a week and, as has been said, let's be content with the fact that we won.

I think it is important to remember, when we talk about players playing twice in a week, that these players are semi professional. This means they have to fit training and playing into a schedule that would include their job and in some cases a family.
There interesting comments from Gordan Strachan last week, before the Newcastle Europa League tie. On the subject of resting Premier League players in these ties he thought, with the condition of today's pitches, they should be playing 60 games per season.

On the other hand I think our non-league players do very well under the circumstances.
Amazing to see Frank Sinclair still playing competitive football at the age of 40. Particularly in a league which I feel is fast paced and physical. He played the whole match too!

Thanks for the highlights and the effort in filming and making them available so quickly. Very professional look including the action replays! One of the best free kicks and certainly the most blatant of penalties I have seen this season!

It is a big thank you to Alistair who records them for us As soon as he lets me have a copy I pop it on the web site. Not usre if we have anyone at Histon tomorrow yet but if we do that will be on line by Wednesday evening.

In hindsight did we play a couple too many friendlies pre-season? I have had a look at the pre-season schedules of 16 BSN clubs where the information was easily available on their websites. Here they are in order with Histon having the most demanding schedule. The detail in order from left to right is club, date of first pre-season game, number of pre-season games and number of days from first pre-season game to first BSN game. Histon 21 July 2012 10 28 Bishop Stortford 24 July 2012 8 25 Solihull Moors 17 July 2012 10 32 Boston United 17 July 2012 9 32 Brackley Town 17 July 2012 9 32 Colwyn Bay 14 July 2012 9 35 Gloucester City 14 July 2012 9 35 Hinckley United 14 July 2012 9 35 Oxford City 21 July 2012 7 28 Workington 10 July 2012 9 39 FC Halifax 14 July 2012 8 35 Worcester City 14 July 2012 8 35 Corby Town 18 July 2012 7 31 Guisley 14 July 2012 7 35 Altrincham 07 July 2012 8 42 Stalybridge Celtic 14 July 2012 5 35
