Another fine display by Shaba Khan, and to cap it he scored the first goal of the game and his first for the club!!

Tony is absolutely right - Shab's first ever goal for City, it's taken 9 years and 154 games! Great performance by him today!

According to wiki, it is his fifth goal for the Club. The last being "the winner in the derby game against Redditch in March 2009."
But I have no record of us playing Redditch in March 2009. We were in Conf South then, while Redditch were in Conf North.
Certainly need to dig deep to recall Shabs scoring, but am sure I can recollect a header some time back!
If it is indeed his first goal, then well done, Shabs.

Any real football supporter will be heartened by Shab's determination to recover from a very serious injury and I expect with the aid of a lot of encouragement from Carl & Matt. From my Northern outpost I was pleased to see him back in the team in pre-season and yeterday's goal was an added bonus. It has been a good start to the season and I look forward to seeing the Glover/Symo partnership at first hand.

Well done Shabs to come back from serious injury like he has, but could we please spell his name properly? It's Shabir. I expect someone will tell me it's like Gazza for Garry and Dazza for Darrell next but I don't buy that one.

We actually asked his family what his preference is and they clearly stated that it is Shab not Shabir.

I'm afraid you won't get too many to agree with your opinions on Mr Khan, as walking around the ground many are not too impressed, although more hopeful that he might make it. And, additionally, I am pretty certain that, although he claimed the goal it actually came off the opposing player's shoulder and was an own goal. Shab really needs a new pair of studs, a new turn of pace or get fitter (or all three) because he's being left for dead on pace. The big heavy 20 stone striker of Bishop's S. who he should easily have had the beating of, was leaving Shab looking silly every time. Yes it's great he's recovered but he's leaving too many holes for the rest of the defence to cover. imho, of course.

Spoke with Shab's family, and got confirmation that it was indeed his first goal.
My apologies for querying it, when informed. Had thought there had been one or two more back in the mists of time, where the grey matter is even greyer!

Apology accepted Andy! Wikipedia isn't always 100% accurate, no idea who wrote the page about Shab. If I have time I'll create an account and edit the entry!
