Whoever was doing the FBk updates made it sound a good game.
Good result, as sounded a bit closer than the score.
Well done to all concerned.

Great entertainment last night - both teams plyed their part in a lively game. City's pace, enuthsiasm and energy were superb and bodes well for the season ahead.
Lots of good individual performances, but Tom Thorley really stood out for me - excellent.
2 slight concerns I have are ,that we wasted a lot of really good attacking positions with poor final balls(I'm sure this will improve), and we are not the biggest side, so could we get out-muscled?
Overall though fantastic!!

I thought Shab Khan had another superb game. Putting him in the centre of defence has chnaged his game, he was never the quickest wing back but in the middle he is an inspiration. The Bishops Stortford No9 was a big aggressive fella and I thought apart from one slip when they should have scored (but a weak shot was stopped by Thompson) Shab handled him well. Glad Carl didn't make changes for change sake too. There were a lot of people calling for changes last night after half-time. But I think Saturday it was the substitutions that lost us the game. Birley into middle for a more combative midfielder would have better than the bringing on Edwards and Breeze, also, Khan had been outstanding Saturday and should have stayed on. i can only imagine he changed him to give him a rest and that let them in..shame, but hopefully a lesson learnt

Good entertainment and an excellent victory against a side who will not be in the bottom half of the table methinks.
Symmo's first goal was another early candidate for goal of the season. I look forward to seeing a video of that if it exists.
I echo the sentiments above about Tom Thorley: he was on fire last night, winning balls that he had no right to. Mills was a little quiet by his standards, but the full-back marking him did an excellent job I thought. On the other flank though Reece was a livewire all night. Pity Danny Glover didn't get on the scoresheet with that first half effort; he cut a disconsolate figure as he trudged off when substituted by Michael Taylor and badly needs a goal to boost his confidence. However the substitution paid off, as it always seems to when Taylor comes on.
Having said that I thought we started to drop too deep when only 1-0 up; Bishop's could easily have got back into the game had not Thompson been on his game.
Why no red card for that awful challenge by Bishop's No 4? The referee bottled that decision.
All in all however a most encouraging start with performances all over the park.

Credit where it's due, TV!
And more importantly to CH & co. Not expecting miracles but for the team keeping trying to entertain.
