I have just been notified by MBNA that "...from 22 July 2012 we'll no longer be working with Worcester City Football Club."
I haven't seen any club statement about this. I had one when they were first introduced and have been using it ever since. I know the club only got a tiny percentage of my - and other cardholders' purchases - but it was one way of giving the club a little contribution.
Does anyone know whether City have simply dumped the process - or are they teaming up with another card company?
Incidentally it was also a talking point when making a purchase and a way of mentioning the club to people.

I would imagine that is MBNA who have dropped the scheme rather than the club I had one too when they were first launched but for some reason it didn't get renewed a couple of years backg

MBNA , lie many other card providers, have sold a lot of their books in recent years.

MBNA are owned by Bank of America. The UK business has been up for sale for some time - and I gather they are currently working on a deal with a UK institution. They were always big on affinity cards (like this one) but never terribly profitable
