Regret to inform you that my Mother, Eugenie Alice Munslow, a supporter of the club since 1957, and at 93 possibly the club's oldest supporter, died today, following complications arising from a heart attack on 12th February.
May she rest in peace.
One regular supporter less, alas.

I will miss my chat with her !! Fingers crossed Carl and the lads can put on a show this weekend and get the win for her.

Dear Tim
I know that you had said on Saturday that your Mother had taken a serious turn for the worse. Very sorry to hear now of her passing. May I pass my condolences to you and your family.
Watching City since 1957 - crikey. That really is something. Though, what a good time to have started, hey? So many memories, I am sure. That's 55 years, isnt it?!!

Yep, 55 years. She stood just in front of me at the Liverpool game and, because she was so short, got crowded out by those in front, despite standing on a brick. So I had to commentate on the game down to her, blow by blow, so to speak.
You will not believe this, but in one of her last lucid moments, she took off the oxygen mask and said "Send my love to the City players" : I had been quite stoic up to that point, but that really cracked me up and brought the tears, to think that even in her last hours she was thinking of the club.
I intend, on Saturday, to bring a posy of flowers from her own garden and place it in the very spot where she stood, by my estimation for 30 years (we used to stand on the Brookside at one time), as a small reminder of her passing. If I can manage a blue and white ribbon even better.

Tim - I only met your mum properly last year, we had a good chat about my family as, like her, they were from Hallow - I was really touched that she could remember my dad and his brothers and sisters, all now long since gone. She most certainly was a true supporter, 55 years is indeed something to be proud of.

Even better - she was on the newspaper placards outside newsagents all over the City. She would have been tickled pink by that.
I was driving past Tesco in Martley Road when I first saw the placard and nearly fell out of my seat.

I don't know what the protocol is, or if he would want to. But wouldn't it be nice if Tim was invited to the centre to blow the whistle for the minute's silence.

Wouldn't want to do that. It's down to the referee. I want to stand where Mother always stood please.

I'd just like to thank Niels and Colin for arranging the minute's silence and to all those present at the match for observing the minute's silence (which was broadcast on 738 AM) so impeccably.
It never ceases to amaze me that football crowds, so noisy and raucous, go so quiet once the referee's whistle is blown for the silence. All you could hear was the crying of seagulls and the faint sighing of the wind. Mother would have been proud of that. For City to go on and win was a bonus.
Than you one and all.
