I only saw the second half, but it has to be said Corby were the better side, finding their men, controlling the midfield.
Dorman kept us in the game. We always looked vulnerable to set pieces.

It was obvious from the start today, that the team selection/formation was totally wrong!!
2 holding players in front of the back four, Tom Thorley wide right and Symo on his own up front - just did not work. Whether this was down to other players carrying niggles and therefore unable to play 90 mins or the managers choice, we'll probably never know. City keeper was easily man of the match.
Hugely disappointing in front of a decent crowd - of the non-regulars, how many are likely to come back??

You'd hope quite a few, it was entertaining, despite the result. Here's a thought, why not extend the idea of Premiership and Championship season ticket holders having access for a fiver? If they've paid £300 plus for a season ticket, they'll obviously want to be at their main team every game they can, but when they're not, and city are playing at home, then let them in at SGL. They probably wouldn't be there otherwise, so its a bonus. Listening to Carl after the match, he had good reason for playing 5 across midfield, with injuries meaning he didnt have enough width, but as he said, you can tell from the result that it didnt work! Thats what I like about Carl, no excuses, he probably got it wrong, and he's first to admit it, and to admit that City were going to struggle to get anything from the game.

City got beat today by a very good team.
Played OK in the first half, but were very lucky not to get beaten by 4 or 5 in the second half.
The city keeper had an excellent game, easily Man of the Match.

For once I find myself agreeing with jcp! I think it would be a very good idea to extend the Premiership/Championship season ticket holder offer for the rest of the season. There must be many Saturdays when their team is playing away and they can't travel when they would look for other entertainment.
It's a great pity we played like we did when we had the 2nd best attendance in the league.

There must be many Saturdays when their team is playing away and they can't travel when they would look for other entertainment. Due to the Europa League on Thursday evenings and Sky Sports live coverage on Sunday's and Mondays, most weeks more than half of the premier League fixtures are not played on Saturday's. I wonder whether the scheme should also be offered to season ticket holders of Worcester Warriors. In my experience, (on my occasional visit to Sixways), a large number of Warriors fans have more than an intrest in both sports Rugby & Football, and many of them would have experienced football at St Georges Lane over the years.

I think you have to be careful about upsetting the season ticket holders of WCFC and those who go to 90% of games already. For once or twice a season this is a good idea. But long term it could piss people off paying twice as much as the bloke standing next to them?

But the bloke standing next to him wouldn't normally be there, and if he's concerned about it, then he could always buy a season ticket at Villa and then he could pay the same price. With the exception of Boddy, its never bothered me if anyone stood next to me has paid less than I have to get in the ground, and I've stood with people who have "borrowed" a complimentary on many an occasion. I'm not sure how it would upset season ticket holders of WCFC, unless they are also season ticket holders at Premiership or Championship teams, in which case, they're already missing games for both their chosen team by dint of the fixture lists, so I imagine that number is very low.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting people through the turnstiles and I don't particularly care how much they pay. But there are people who would. I also think that the discount to Warriors fans would possibly bring in the most fans.

Actually Zeke is spot on with what he has said.
Regular supporters of the club were already moaning about this situation on Saturday as they entered the ground.
The stupid thing was there were only a few that turned up to take the club up on the offer the majority of extras in the crowd this weekend were the junior teams who were undertaking a match and penalty shoot out.
I think the warriors idea is a good one but would need to be balanced out with the regulars that pay £11 getting something also.
Maybe the loyalty stamp card that was used last season can be used again, all be it this being Andrew Watsons baby !!

If regular supporters were moaning it must have been a good idea - there are so many supporters down the lane that need something to moan about or else they can't enjoy themselves. They're probably the same people who call the likes of me and Derek Jones "Judas" and the same people who moaned when challenged to pay the extra £ to sit in the stand when they were cheating the club out of money! Or accusing people of going to meetings with agendas!! You couldnt give a discount to Warriors fans, define a Warriors fan?

The Verner states that regular supporters were moaning as they entered the ground. I did not hear any of this.
Also I am a regular supporter and season ticket holder and have no complaints over the excercise of attracting in extra spectators.
If it gets some of the absentees to come along again they will be paying the full entrance fee.
More power to the directors for trying something different to try to attract bigger attendances.

Tony i meant (A few) regulars were moaning. I think its a good idea but as JCP knows and states you always get the moaners and the club will never please everyone coming to the lane. Weve got Boddy and the cronies to thank for that after years of misguidance and lies.

I've never considered myself a glory hunter, having watched them before rugby union even had leagues, and also back when they were in division 3. The football club could have learnt a lot from how they've operated. But more to the point, it can't just be aimed at Warriors supporters, it can surely only be aimed at season ticket holders. I'm up for Ladies Day, I'm sure Davina is too Sometimes if I'm feeling a bit down I cheer myself up by listening to Simon Williams' presentation at the Whitehouse Hotel, its so funny, especially the bit where he lambasts a certain Colin Layland for doing nothing for the football club

Actually Verner, although I like to blame everything on Boddy, the moaners have always been at SGL - and always will be. They're not worth taking into account as they even moaned during Nobby's era when we won everything in site. Fans' concerns need listening to - as long as the criticism is constructive.

As we were thrashing Moor Green a number of years back, i think it was 4-0 at the time, some "supporters" came past whinging that apart from the goals it was "f**k**g rubbish" Every initiative will be greeted by a certain section of the Worcester Whingers as the spawn of the devil regardless. I will never forget when me and Cogg were manning the stairs to the main stand to collect the extra £ from all the people who used to go through the standing turnstile and just go into the stand as if they had a right to cheat the club. What abuse we had, like people who said "I've done this every game this season so far and no-one has complained" and then got shirty when I suggested that in that case they would need to pay me £15 (for 15 games!) Poor old Boddy had to suffer the moaners as much as (probably even more than) anyone, and I feel some sympathy for him in that respect. Strangely though, the moaners he had to endure never moaned about the things that mattered like the Nunnery Way project!!
