What is it with the police and Nuneaton? There has never been any trouble between the clubs as far as I can remember.
I would suggest that the police intelligence is out of date on this matter.
As for segration, it does deter home supporters from attending, because of the incoveninence of having to cross the obstacle course of passing in front of the stand and then up to the canal end.

Tony theres reasons why we cannot segregate in the usual place and that has been well documented by myself over the last 3 maybe 4 seasons, to be honest the argument is getting to be very dated. The main problem at that end is the refreshments bar, the club would need to spend money on doing this up to house supporters in that end. With two seasons left whats the point on wasting money on it when we need it to go to wards our future, especially when over the next two seasons we may only segregate twice maybe three times. We can only house 300 people in that end of the ground now also, over the years the attendance in that section has decreased year on year making the only viable team to go into that section being Redditch United...they are so poorly supported these days that we don't require segregation to be in place. In the other end we've housed, Telford x2, Newport, Kiddy and Wimbledon. All of which had more than 300 attending. Nuneaton would usually bring 200 - 300 and intelligence suggests that segregation is needed, take it from someone who has seen the intelligence that this is needed. Our bobby's have got intelligence correct on all of the above fixtures in the past. Nuneaton have previously been segregated at St Georges Lane on two occasions in the last 6 or 7 years. If Nuneaton bring more than 300 which after their start to the season I cannot see happening and the canal end is reopened, then at the point of 300 we would put in place a lock out and all supporters waiting to get into that end of the ground will be sent on their way. Maybe its a case we try it but then who will pay for all of the repairs to the burger bar on the canal end.

Just an idea, but drive a burger van in through the canal end double gates to facilitate ''refreshments'', then segregate the away fans into the shed along with the canal end and leave most of us home fans to stand in our usual positions. The away fans enter the ground through the canal turnstile and everybody is happy.

As I say this argument is old now !!
Good idea...but forgive me for shooting your idea down in flames...first there's the matter of concrete posts blocking access to vehicles to the canal path.
Then there's the little problem that the double gates go down steps on one side and neither entrances are wide enough.
Then one set of double gates have a metal bar going across the top which would be a height issue and the other set of gates have a brick wall across the top so either way this idea still doesn't work.
Add to that a vehicle towing a burger van down a canal path being a little unsafe

Its bullshit, the ground grading only says that there should be "adequate refreshment facilities" in a segregated area, it doesnt say what is considered aggregate, it doesnt state that hot food or drinks must be available.

I didn't see a refreshment bar at Nuneaton in the segregated area. But then I stood in the Nuneaton supporters area so perhaps it was out of my sight.

The original reason given was that for a Cup game 25% of capacity has to go to the away team, and the Canal End wouldn't be big enough. this refreshments thing is garbage.

The game I was refering to was a league game. There was no segregation when City beat them in the cup.

I'm not on about Nuneaton, I'm talking about the original reason given for segregating in this way, wasnt it Wimbledon in the Trophy ? or someone like that. Anyway its just crap, there's no reason for this segregation at all, hopefully common sense will see this righted.

It's been shown before that segregation causes trouble. Can't remember the opponents(not Wimbledon), but our "brave" youthful followers running towards the Canal End shouting abuse and giving obscene hand gestures, knowing that the opposition were safely behind the fence. The whole game was a constant barrage of foul language and BS. Segregation lets the idiots feel safe in handing out verbal abuse.
If the supporters were not segregated, these "fans" wouldn't have had the bottle to say a word and the chance of any trouble would have been miniscule.

Regarding the "catering facilities" - the supporters are from Nuneaton, surely a few packets of scratchings are all that will be required?
