Do we dare raise the optimistic hope of a third successive home victory?? Here's hoping.

They shipped three against Gloucester on Saturday, but as Carl was quick to point out they recently took four points off Nuneaton.
Surely we can't play as badly as we did on Saturday - can we?

Well, plenty of optimism!
But let's guard against complacency?
Goals for us are good, but settle for any sort of victory. Two wins good, three better. But a long way from every game being a certainty.

But we're at home so surely we must lose? Despite having won four out of our last five home league games, including two against teams above us in the table?

But we're at home so surely we must lose? Except we haven't since Eastleigh. And we won at home again!

A very good game to watch. They fell apart for the first fifteen minutes, we fell apart for then next fifteen and then next sixty were pretty evenly contested. Their number 6 (Hargraves?) ran the game for them (I even clapped him off when he was subbed) and gave Quaynor a baptism of fire, thought O'Connor had his best game in a City shirt and his pass to McGregor towards the end of the game (keeper came off his line to block McGregor's shot) was sublime.
Apart from that wobble when Hyde came back this was a very good performance, roll on Nuneaton.

The score could have been6 if McGreggor had not miskicked two glorious chances in the second half.
O'Connor seems to get better in each game he plays.
The only weak position last night was Quaylor. But it was his first game with new team mates.
But overall a good performance by the team.
WELL DONE THE LADS!!!

What a meal we made of that match; after 15 minutes we were in cloud cuckoo land and I thought we were going to destroy them, but this is Worcester City, so it was par for the course when we fell away and let them right back in the game.
The problem was that we scored those three goals too quickly and too easily, and then proceeded to take our foot off the gas, altho' it has to be said that Holsgrove's goal for their 1st was a sublime goal. Anyone would have been proud of that.
Should have been 5 or 6-2 if we hadn't missed chances at the end. However, we mustn't grumble - nine points out of nine in the last three home games and now Nuneaton and Alfreton to come!
Agree about Kevin O'Connor; the introduction of Hurren doing the ugly bit in midfield has freed up Thorley and O'Connor to do what they do best - pass the ball, and O'Connor especially had a brilliant game, involved in everything.
Up to tenth in the table, now let's see how far we can go.

No chance. Fate has just been tempted! Top ten as someone else said though, would be good after last year's near-disaster. Does it prove BSS is stronger generally than BSN??

cracking game to watch last night. Danksy definitely appears to be getting frustrated. He just needs to bag one and i think he will be back on a roll. So many missed oppertunitys on all counts last night though, we could have had about 8 in total with the good chances provided. Nonetheless, a great game last night. Way better than going for a dissapointing meal!
Anyone know the attendance?

There maybe something to be sai for BSS being stronger as we also lost to Eastleigh altho' I think we should have beaten them when we had the chance at thier place. But I think the real reason why is we have a team who can play football and not just hoof it from the back to front as we did last season in the BSS The North has competed well in competitions like the FA Cup and Trophy but the South have had their representatives too (Dover for one) Personally I don't think there is much of a difference between the two on the pitch, the differences are more in the set up of some of these teams off the pitch and the facilities available; But again exceptions like Telford can be argued too.

Probably NO!
For two reasons.
1) The recorded Danny Glover bit sounds crap and will sound even crapper over the PA (although I will do some work on it). 2) I did consider having a track for each player when they scored, but it is not always clear to those in the PA box, who are probably furthest away from the action and have the glare on the window to contend with, who has scored. We quite often have to take a concensus from the people outside the box before announcing it, and so the moment would be lost.
However one way of doing it would be a bit like they do in the Bundesliga on substitutions, play the music and when it gets to the Barbara Streisand bit the crowd could chant the name of the scorer. However you would have to do it with gusto or else it would be a bit s***, and some names pan out better than others. Danny and Marc would be ok but Danks doesn't really scan.

Anyone know the attendance? 472. Disappointing crowd, despite the alternative, er, attraction. Will we see a 500+ crowd again at home, midweek? Still Alfreton only attracted 27 more as runaway leaders tonight with no such excuse as last night. And thanks JIIG for your thoughts.
