Oh dear! City 1-0 down after "...Emmanuel Ibhadon's long-range strike catches Coleman off-guard and he can only help the ball into the net." in the 1st minute of added on time at the end of the first half.
Always a bad time to concede. City line up as follows:-
Coleman, T Evans, Ward, Thorley, Hurren, Clarke, Richman, O'Connor, McGregor, Danks, Birley. Subs: Glover, Mace, Emery, K Evans, Birch.

1-2 O'Connor on 73 minutes. That's better!
City have made three substitutions (not all at once!)- Kyonn Evans for Tom Evans, Emery for Richman and Glover for McGregor.
That was still the score at full-time, so we're in the final!

We were very poor in the first half, never really getting out of second gear. Marginally better in the second. First City goal was an own goal, with Danksy in close attendence. Second one a good header by O'Connor beating a keeper a good 6 inches taller than him. Glover hit the post late on. Not good but good enough.

Good to get the poor performance out of the way in the cup against a 'lesser' sie and to till come out on top With our performance being so inconsistent we expect a bad one once in a while, let's hope we can produce a good 'un Saturday now

But don't forget they lost 8-0 at home in a Lge.game on Saturday to Evesham, so puts our result in some sort of context. Still, we must be in the Final? v.Evesham or Redditch? Hopefully the former....

Thanks for your positive post VOR! The lads win and still you're not happy.
Oh and try getting your facts right about the other semi finalists.

Post by Tony is not to despondent now. on Feb 10, 2011 8:37:20 GMT
The match I saw was a packed defence by Halesowen, with almost everyone falling back when City had possession of the ball (about 90% of the game).
A right back who seemed to want to put Danks in hospital. Only a yellow card after several fouls on Danksy calmed him a little, but in the second half he was moved to central defence. And City had difficulty in breaking down the packed defence, as they have all season.
But, a win none the less.

Why is the final two legs?

probably because no one would turn up to a game on a neutral pitch for the final. Although you would imagine you would want the 2nd leg and the cup presentation at your home ground

Yeah and also it gives both clubs a little revenue, of which would come nicely for us and would give us a little extra in the figures at the end of the season, especially as we lost Ilkeston match early on in the season!!
We may only get 200 - 300 for it but at the end of the day its extra cash

From what I remember we did not budget for any more than one game in all the cup ties (assuming we go out at the first hurdle each time) so the FA Trophy games and these Senior Cup games all all bonus income no matter how small it is. A cup final is a cup final and a win can be a nice addition to the honours board. I am sure Carl will want to get the first under his belt, start small and work up to a league title maybe Ever the optimist! ;D
