But if he's only banned from the touchline he'll be sat in the stand, rushing up and down the stairs, giving Preece advice.
I say we put a few burly lads round the Northwich dugout to prevent access!

I've never understood this touchline ban. The touchline is a crap place to see whats going on i na football match, I don't understand why managers don't always sit in the stand. They can't change how the team is playing during a half, they gesticulate and shout, but the players don't really understand the various hand signals and arm movements, so they acknowledge them, and then just ignore whatever it was they think they were told! And any player reading this knows its true The only thing they can do is change formation or personnel, and they can see how this is being mapped out much better from a seat in the stand!

Agreed; in fact Jock always used to watch at least the first 30 minutes from the main stand. I should know, as I stand right next to the gate leading on to the pitch towards the Canal End. I was forever opening the gate for him, and I don't think I ever got a thankyou.

As proved in the last Big Match

He knows his football, he can coach players, yes granted! If only he didnt have the social skills of a caveman! I remember being stood with Dave Boddy in the HKL watching him running a training session after a game and saying to Boddy "That guys got real class!" yet another fan once said to me "he'd be banned from life in junior football if he behaved like that at kids games"

He only used words of one syllable to me "I know where you live!" I've got to say though, I totally respect him as a coach, if only he could sort out his temper, he could walk into a job managing the Seychelles!
