A refreshingly honest and open AGM/shareholder meeting. Steve Carley was present throughout, so the Worcester News will no doubt report the headlines. Basically we lost 64k in 07/08 and 93k in 08/09 although the unofficial accounts for 09/10 show improvement (only a 20k loss). Budget for 10/11 suggests we aim to break even.

We are lookingat about 1.75m clear from the sale of SGL and are committed to the Nunnery Way project until 2017 or earlier if the contracts ever become 'frustrated'.
Oh yeah and Dave Hope seems to want his money back!
I am a shareholder. Meeting finished about 8.30.

Not sure but he very forcefully asked when outstanding loans were being repaid. He gave the impression that he was one of the creditors!

Think he wanted to ensure.the monies were paid rather than self interest
Did anyone notice it was said no ground plans had been discussed for NW then ten minutes later the plan was for a lock and leave style ground. How would that be known if ground designs have not been talked about?

How would that be known if ground designs have not been talked about? I thought the lock and leave comment related to the Cinderella ground? Also, can anyone help with the maths on the budget this year. This is based on home attendance of 660, presumably this does not include season ticket holders? And is it averaged over full paying and concessions? With the greatest respect to the supporters who come through the turnstiles City does have an ageing support which reduces income unless "younger" people can be encouraged to start coming through the gate.

Commercial income, younger people spend more money on refreshments & the clubs commercial activities. Hopefully getting younger people going to games, they will get in the habit, future of the club etc. Plus it gives the old ones something to moan about.

A very good AGM, open , straight and honest. Nothing hidden away, no blame put on the economy, the banking crisis, or even the housing market fall. Just plain old, poor accounts from a poorly performing business. What was refeshing was the realism of the board in terms of expectation, no more "league football in 10 years time" or any of that crap, now its about creating a small non-league football club which can wash its face - and that is a big ask, as at the moment its only just possible, and thats with Careys propping up the club with £62,500 a year! I was more interested in what was not said, particularly by SMD. I understood they were going to release some sort of statement to reassure shareholders, they didnt. It was clear by Jim Panters answers to questions that the club has been totally kept in the dark about the planning application, and the club are supposed to be joint applicants. The application will include the enabling development, so if the plans are being presented to planning in the next 2/3 weeks, then surely the Board MUST be fully aware of the plans, and MUST have had full sighting of the plans? But no it seems this is not the case. On the question of overage at SGL, Jim made it clear that the deal wasnt a good one for WCFC, and Careys response when questioned about it was along the lines of "take it of leave it" I got the feeling that there would be minimal overage at SGL. The football club beleive they will have around £1.75 million maximum to build a New Stadium. With ground costs and infrastructure running at £1.4 million, that leaves £300,000 to build a League standard landmark stadium. And the club are contracted to SMD and Nunnery Way!! The question of former directors privileges was brought up again, and Anthony promised that this would be discussed at the next board meeting. It better be. As was pointed out to me, Boddy was at the Evesham friendly, and in the directors box, how? This was a freindly at the home ground of a Zameretto League club!! This is still an issue with many supporters, and is costing the club gate receipts - please sort it Anthony, this is the only real failure that can be pointed out during your tenure to date.
Oh, and the Board got a round of applause last night! And deserved too, they've still got a lot of difficult discussions with stakeholders, but they deserve credit for what they have achieved so far.

I think that this will be quite a difficult problem for the Club. Boddy is a shareholder and an official of the Conference. Also Boddy is so blind to his unpopularity that the cannot see that he is harming the Club. Come on Boddy do the right thing and stop coming to St. George's Lane.

Yes thanks Jem. The terrifying thing is WCFC, as a business, is not in control of its own destiny. It's so constrained by the contracts that have been foisted on it that others will now decide its future.
This is an impossible situation for a company to be in. There seems to be good things happening both on and off the pitch - but I worry these will all be to no avail.
I know some will accuse me of being negative, but I'm just trying to think of ways to salvage the situation and utilise all the efforts now being made.
A brand new club free from restrictive contracts and able to call on this expertise might be the only way forward. I'm just thinking out loud.
And re Boddy - for goodness sake Mr Hampson tell him to stay away! It sends all the wrong messages for him to be lording it in the Directors' box after all the damage he's caused. If this is to be seen as a clean start he has to go.

How bloody difficult is it to tell the man,` You may ,or may not, recognise that many of our lifelong supporters see you as a symbol of all that has gone wrong at the Club. Therefore,in all our interests,I must insist that you either stay away or if you must attend pay to do so and refrain from sitting in or near the Directors` Box.` There,Anthony ,how difficult was that?

Anthony has been saying that he will deal with this situation for more than 12 months, so those of you who are so strongly opposed to DB attending, sitting in the box & being a guest in the board room probably should not be too optimistic.

why does he want to bloody sit in the directors box anyway? !! bloody hell Its just classic signs of delusions of grandeur! He believes he's Mr Worcester City...........still! He never has been Mr Worcester City, and his legacy is a debt ridden company with no assets, and no hope of a new stadium. I suggest that people point at him and laugh. His position at the club now is that of court jester (cue artwork from Lord Ealing!) so I suppoe he might as well be in a prominent position for people to jeer him. Can we have his seat painted pink or something?? Or a big sign with an arrow above his seat ??

"cue artwork from Lord Ealing!" One day maybe, when I see the funny side of Boddy's disastrous leadership. But I think that's a long way off.
I'm still unsure whether he was incompetent or corrupt - maybe both?
If he does ever realise what he's done, and the price he and the supporters have paid for his mistakes, then I fear for his health.
