It will be so good to see the ball being played to feet and along the ground and the likes of Pike et al using it to play attractive football. I know it wasn't easy with the condition of the pitch last year and probably won't be much better this season either with the amount of football being played on it. But most visiting teams were able to and I believe the squad CH is putting together will want to play football and not launch missiles over the midfield in no mans land. I am actually excited about the prospects this year for the first time in a long time

The biggest factor will be the pitch, if its not in decent condition, then its going to be difficult to play attractive football. Also going north will mean a return to plenty of other boggy cut up pitches from November to March. Cleggs probably turning up for a few clubs pre-season, whether he'll be offered anything is another story. If we dont get him, we'll have a very skillful but poorly controlled midfield, they'll run around all day, but will they see the pass? We need a fat controller to sit in there, like the great Barry Williams.

"He's now done that and we had a very constructive conversation. He wants to do pre-season with us and prove his fitness. a quote from what ch said about clegg, he wanted to come and prove his fitness but has decided to join a team two leagues lower , yes it is closer to home but still

I wonder if the long-suffering fans of WCFC will ever be watching "All's Well That Ends Well"? Or even "As You Like It"?

So not at home to Ch*ltenhan that date? Evesham are entitled to a Saturday home friendly then?? According to the report on the Stratford Town game City are due to play Malvern on the 24th. Does anyone know whether it is at home or away and what happened to the Cheltenham fixture?

Tony,
Cheltenham pulled out of the game so we are now playing Malvern Town AWAY on Saturday 24th July 2010. I think this is a 3pm kick off at the Langlands Stadium.
There was something on the website and in the local paper I think.

Yes relief, as we would have to reduce the capacity by 310, it also means we can SAFELY segregate that end of the ground. We also have a clear circulation route around the ground instead of that area being completely shut down.

Or is it? Would a reduction of capacity of 310 make a difference? Only if there were 3,000+ gates. And just how much more is the cost of maintaining and retaining this part of the ground over and above the revenue it makes? Is the one end at Twerton Park still out of action?

It will not cost alot to maintain it every year, paint and maybe some wood would be enough to keep it going.
But what we've got to remember is that the canal end hasn't been touched for the last 5 years maybe more....as members of the board decided year after year that they would leave it as they were chasing their dream of nunnery way, structurally this has been passed as safe for at least the next two seasons, Birdfeeder has replaced all boards that needed replacing and if we maintain this each year then the cost will be very minimal.
OK on the grand scale of things 310 wouldn't matter in a league match apart from maybe AFC Telford but if we were to have another game such as the Huddersfield game then 310 would make a difference financially.
