Northwhich have released 6 players one of them being mark Danks . Andy preece has spoken out in the paper saying that mark has left the club and is in talks with three clubs in the midlands.

Mark Damks has already put pen to paper for a blue square north team, good luck to him and can't wait to see him down the lane to see if he is still the same player of a few years ago, also a murmur of a goalkeeper having signed and if true we will have a hell of a team, one I'd be proud to watch

Verner - are you saying Danks has signed for us. If so an excellent signing.

I'm not saying anything, I feel playoffs are a realistic challenge for us this year, just hope we can land O'Connor, who seems to be taking his time looking at offers that we've given him and that of AFC Telford, hopefully Clydy and Wardy will give him another reason to sign

Northwitch/Northwhich/Mark Damks/'I'm not saying anything' (having made a post clearly intimating Danks has signed!) - It's all too much for a Sunday evening!

I can confirm that he has signed for us, I don't know where you read this article as Mark only agreed the transfer tail end of this week

Let's just wait until it's announced on the Worcester news site or official site, let's not get carried away with it until we know more facts regarding hid contract length etc etc

I think a few of us knew just wondered if it ever would happen !!
Still if we can also get the other 3 I suspect we have put offers to we should have a really good squad for next year

yep agreed! As per usual I will reserve judgement until after 5 games of the season to see if names and reputations live up to it and can gel together into a unit that works. We don't want another Keith Shite or Christian Poor

Wayne we say it every year that this could be the season we do it, i just wanted to be the first to say it . Carl seems to be building a team that will show fight and want to play for the club instead of the money, i knew about danksy in April having talks but at the time he had about 5 teams chasing him, i never thought he would reject them and sign for us. In todays Worcester News, Carl says “I think the supporters can expect top-quality signings who will make people sit up and look at them''. I dont know why but theres something about Carl Heeleys words in the paper that I believe, compared to recent years when Preece and Dryden had spoken about the quality of the squad and then not showed up. I just hope we can sign O'Connor and a 'Top Quality' goalkeeper, and maybe another striker to boost the frontline of danks, and hopefully macca

With the football league contacts that he, Mark Clyde and Ward have then we shouldn't be surprised that we have some 'names' interested in the club. If Carl can sell them the dream and they want to commit and play for the good of the team and not the wage packet which after all isn't going to be big this season, then I don't see why we can't be top half of the league. A quality goalkeeper is going to be a must have, but clubs can only play 1 'keeper so we should be able to persuade one to join us with the guarantee of regular 1st team football. A team committed to playing for WCFC is all I / we ask. I kind of agree with Jem that we should let the 1st 5 games be played before making an opinion, but that is too easy. Additionally I also don't think the 1st five games are necessarily the best to judge. It is going to take that time to gel as a team. Yes those 5 games might make the difference in terms of results come the end of the season.... Fingers crossed.

Just let's avoid relegation or even settle for midtable mediocrity......the play-offs are a pipedream.

Yes those 5 games might make the difference in terms of results come the end of the season.... Fingers crossed. I was chatting to a former manager about this once, and he said that after five games, regardless of results, you can see the players who just don't fit in. You give them a a few more games but you're already thinking of shipping them out. Give them 10 games and thats a quarter of the season gone! I think our problem though will be like it always is, and thats that we arent able to strenthen the squad in the New Year. This is where the clubs with money come into their own, they can virtually tap into any other clubs best players, and build a new team for the second half of the season, because this is the time that the financially crippled teams are suffering from cashflow problems - brought on by postponed games, lower crowds, and possibly indifferent results and demotivated players.

This is fantastic and the fact the Telford fans are so wound up by the news is a good sign, the lad will get a hot reception, also had a few names chucked into the mix today and told the Jasbir Singh and Marc Canham were seen at the Lane.....didn't rate Singh that highly from what I've seen of him but not seen anywhere near enough, Marc Canham would be an excellent signing.
1. Singh 2. Ward 3. Price 4. Khan 5. Elvins 6. Canham 7. O'Connor 8. Clegg 9. Danks 10.McGregor or a new striker 11. Pike
12. Walker 13. Davies 14. Birley
I'm missing someone!
