At the time, I think we all believed this..... Lewes have managed only 5 wins in 35 games, they're not suddenly going to go on a barnstorming run over their last 7 games. If they win 2 more games between now and the end of the season I'll be surprised. I'll be even more surprised if Bishops Stortford also get sucked in, its not as if Lewes are going to get 10 more points than them in the last 7 games, they won't get 10 points at all! No, the bottom 3 are as is, and virutally how they've been all season. The form guides show that none of the bottom teams have really moved over the last 8 games, City have picked up 2 points on Lewes who've picked up 2 points on Bishop Stortofrod. Theres noithng to suggest that the next few games will see any team picking up more than 4 points on any other. No reason for anyone getting nervous at all. Jimmy Greaves was right!

We certainly did! It should never have happened, but it did. Its why football is so addictive I suppose!

Unfortunately the players probably believed it. It was always going to be a dangerous game to presume others wouldnt get the results to catch us. It's not over until.......
I think the belief was founded on the presumption that the Lewes team that were finishing the season were the same team that won four of the first 34 games of the season. If it had been then they wouldnt have done it.

Unfortunately too many of the players didnt care one way or another, and I've got that from the most reliable of sources.

Unfortunately too many of the players didnt care one way or another, and I've got that from the most reliable of sources. but surely Carl was an integral part of the management team that brought these players in? Next season the buck will stop with him, so let's hope he's a better judge of character and temperament when decisions about the playing staff are made for 2010/11 and he's 100% responsible. I believe he will be.
