Well I'm staggered for a number of reasons. How a team can blow it from where they were is one thing, but this also goes to show what a terribly poor team this one is. This isnt down to bad luck, or bad run of the green, this is down to a poor team of players who really don't care. Obviously Lewes players a) Feel some pride in playing for Lewes and b) Want to stay in this league, and will probably still be putting 100% in for Lewes next season. Its a pity the same can't be said of our players, I won't be going to the presentation evening, they dont deserve presentations, and they can buy their own f**k**g dinner!!

The Worst Ever worcester city team ever?

This season has been disastrous off the pitch. We have had many opportunities to get out of trouble, but have looked several gift horses in the mouth...
This may well be the worst city side in living memory, but I still think they had enough in the tank to avoid finishing in the bottom 3 - and whilst the attitude and capabilities of the players are the biggest problem, I think Carl has to take his fair shame of the blame (no lack of heart, but a lack of experience?)
And jcp you may be right about Lewes, but in addition, from what I understand, they have made great use of loan signings in the last few weeks - ours have been poor.

From what I have seen, which has been limited, and by the way players have clearly not given the effort needed, then I'd say so, yes. But this is really the culmination of the many years of work behind the seasons which has led to debt, a lack of budget for players (with too much being syphoned off for "The Project" instead) and finally a level of supporter apathy and downright disinterest of which there has never been before at SGL.

foolish remark, sunday league players wont be good enough. carl inherited this team so he has to be given the chance to clear the decks in the summer and get in players who want to play for the club, with the desire and hunger needed. it was summed up today by marco adaggio trying a fancy dan back heel which put chelmsford on the attack. too many of these players think they are betterthan they really are.

We could have played for a month without scoring. The only decent players were injured and the full backs were stood well behind the centre halves on far too many occasions. It was basic stuff. The forwards were just not there.

goal differences now level Not that I think this will happen, but if we do finish level on points then we are guaranteed (not like a Rafa guarantee) to have a better goal difference. To finish level on points three results need to happen: Lewes will have to lose one and draw one. Obviously the lose one part of that means their goal difference will decrease to at least -15. Worcester need to win, which if acheived will take our goal difference, at worst, to -14.

Well we have got ourselves into this situation. If we go down its because we arent good enough, not because of what Dorchester do. I think Lewes would have beaten any team Dorchester put out yesterday - look at the form of both teams - not by 5-0, but its the three points that matter.

Well if the got beat 5-0 hardly bodes well for next season !! Whatever happens we can't complain. If Dorchester put out a weakened team so be it, we have had enough chances this season to get out of this mess. Hopefully Carl will look to the two league below for next season, reduce the playing budget and get players who want to play for the club. For too long we have loked at players leaving league clubs many of whom think they are better than the are. Look at Pike, he is one who seems to be relishing the step up rather than down. As many know when City are away I watch teams in the NPL and NPL north and there are plenty of players that could perform at Citys level. Warrington Town for example have a player in Jimmy McCarthy who has carried them this season. Connerton at Lancaster has just secured a move to Crewe and that's just two. I really think Carl will make a success of the team, however as I stated in another thread I hope only Clyde, Birley, and Pike are retained. The rest as JCP states appear to have no heart.

I havent seen a great deal of games this season, but from what I have Daniel appears to have the heart too and is another I'd keep. In the last ten minutes yesterday he was running everywhere, desperately trying to get the ball and get us back in the game.

Daniel has been to inconsistant, maybe a year to many, Kemp will be too expensive if we go down and Alfie isn't good enough as a striker. I'd actually prefer Louis Bridges up front but he has been carrying an injury most of the season but as a poacher he gets in the right positions

Yep agree with preston, Daniel has been playing on memory this season. Only Clyde has shown the kind of commitment we've needed this season, and he just cant manage 42 games a season. It'll be a massive clearout, and we won't miss any of them!
