Neither Worcester or Lewes can win back to back games Worcester losing to Bath and Lewes beating Bromley can therefore only be forecast with one result ....... Can't it?

Yep, nailed on That evidence is as conclusive as any other evidence for predicting the result.

If we beat Lewes they will need 3 wins from their last four games. If we lose to Lewes they may only need 1 win from those games - and they have to play Dorchester at home. It's getting a bit too close for comfort! My team for Saturday would be: Meredith Back Line of Ward, Daniel, Clyde, Shab Midfield of Pike (or possibly Davis), Price, Elvins, Walker Front of Marco and McGregor, if fit, or Carter, if fit. Subs; Wilding, Dinsmore, Davis etc.
Basically I would like to see Jamie Price in midfield in place of Craig Wilding.

You are assuming that we won't get any other points?

YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY TEMPTED FATE! FFS. Wilding, besides being an emergency centre-forward, is a complete waste of space. Hopefully Clyde, Elvins and McGregor are all available for Lewes?

Wilding was all over the place, I know he has asked not to be up front but keeps getting put there and wasting the chances. He missed a real sitter in the 2nd half which anyone who can head a ball half decently would have buried. Didn't think Lee added much but he looks like a player who needs the ball to feet not hoofed long in the air. He linked up reasonably well but looked a bit of a lost sheep at times. Pike needs to start and fully agree that Price need to be on the left of midfield unless Josh Emery is over his mumps which looks likely. Then Josh on the left and Price in the centre of midfield with Walker, that looks like a really energetic ball winning midfield which we are going to need against Lewes.

Why don't we go out and find even a half decent forward who likes the ball into him with his back to goal? Surely there's a Mick Tuohy shaped forward somerwhere in the Midlands? None of our forwards play with their back to goal, none of them hold up and release back into oncoming midfielders, or square the ball. In terms of midfielders we are shuffling the chairs on the Titanic, you could perm any 4 from 6 or 7 and get the same result, yes, plenty of energy, but little creativity. And remove Wilding altogether.

I'm sorry to find myself agreeing but I didn't think he added anything on Monday. The best front three (if available) would be Elvins, McGregor and Carter.
Whilst statistically it would seem Mark Clyde's presence makes little difference, in practice I, and I suspect the whole team, feel much better when he is on the field. He is one of the best defenders I have ever seen start for City and reads the game so well. What is they say about statistics - you know - there's lies, damn lies and statistics!

Just a thought TM, what about Marco up front?
But in all seriousness, would take a win on Saturday by any means possible..... Think it can happen, but won't be pretty. If at all.

City will have to be energetic all over the park. Its a cup final. CH has done well to keep us ahead of the pack thus far. Results have been mixed but with limited resources he has managed well - its just a game we cannot afford to lose. Come on you blues.

I would prefer City to be canny, and to work as a team, I don't think energy alone will be enough. if both teams just run around a lot it will become a lottery. I really hope that Carl has a plan, and gets the team to work to it. Lets hope that Mark Clyde is back, as this team needs a leader.

Agree with Jem on all his points. Hopefully those concerned with WCFC can recall all their weak points (and ours!!) from the first game and work on those.....
And the crowd can be 'up' for it for once, instead of some moaning, even if we go a goal or 2 down?
Not picking on him, but more thoughts on this in the Jake (Good Luck to him and all the lads!) thread....
