Even if we do avoid relegation chances are we’ll face another season near the bottom of the table, whether BS North or South.
Looking at the Zamaretto Premier, relegation to that league could mean we're playing next season against the likes of Halesowen, Nuneaton and Leamington. Lower travelling costs, Midlands opponents, probably more away fans coming through the turnstiles – how much of a disaster would it be?

Not all that much of one if I think about it.
The only concern I would have is administration, if it happens this season, we go down, if it happens next season after we've gone down....well, who knows.

Something I have thought about but would we be any better off. Afterall without the debt Nuneaton, Leamington, Halesowen etc would still have bigger playing budgets than us. Look how long it has taken us to bounce back up to the conference ! Personally I'd rather us stay up and move into the North. There are other bonuses too like later entry into cup competitions

I agree with jupu, and how much of a disaster has the enforced relegation been for Nuneaton. I've mentioned this before, Anthony and Jim need to talk to Ian Neale. Leamington is a superb little non-league club, who have triumphed over adversity through the will of the people of Leamington. Its a model that WCFC could do well to adopt. Preston, we've never bounced back up to the Conference (or was that irony I've totally missed?) And can anyone seriously say that WCFC can operate in the Conference? Reading thje piece in the Worcester News re SMD, I think some serious decisions will soon need to be taken. Luckily we have the people in the driving seats now who are prepared to make the serious decisions.

Jem That was exactly what I meant. When we were relegated from the Conference, it was expected we would bounce straight back with a bigger playing budget in the league below. Yet it never happened. If we take relegation this year then we would have no guarentees of a return, nor a bigger budget than the likes of the teams mentioned, plus still with a mountain of debt. If however the suggestion was in line with Leamington etc and go bust and clear the debt I would have a different view as that is the route I think we will have to consider if the Careys/St Modwen situation can't be sorted

Luckily we have the people in the driving seats now who are prepared to make the serious decisions. I raised this point at the last meeting at the Cricket Ground but was shouted down by those who still think WCFC is a big Club and have a right to be in the Conference. The sooner the Club is sorted out and re-started the better. If that means playing at a ground similar to Leamington then that's fine with me. Nearly Two years have been wasted since the WCCC meeting in April 2008 & all that has happened is the debt has increased & a deal signed which will never benefit WCFC. This mess has to be sorted out by the end of this season. We can't go to NW because we won't last a season & the current situation will drag on & on until the "ground" is built which could be any time in the next 9 years! If St Modwen have threatened to pull the plug if we try to pull out of the deal, they can carry on & do it as far as I am concerned. It is going to happen anyway, so the sooner the better.

There is a very interesting article in tonight's WEN re the need for a Midlands regional division, something the FA have tried long and hard to achieve, alas without success to date. Most of the Zamaretto clubs would appear in such a Midlands-based division.
If there was such a division then surely it would have to be three up/ three down, with only the champions of Blue Square North, South and Midlands going up to the Conference proper.
