With the temperatures dropping can anyone say if we left the undersoil heating on last night and will it be on again tonight? Did the frost get into the ground last night and is there a chance it could again tonight? At least the sun is set to shine all day today let's hope we get sun all day tomorrow too.

Let's hope this Doesn't turn out to be a Zeros day, as H. & R. have a handy away record from what I can see.
OK, they can't be world beaters if they didn't beat us in the return game, but best to wary as our home record whilst improving slightly, is mediocre at best!

OK, they can't be world beaters if they didn't beat us in the return game, but best to wary as our home record whilst improving slightly, is mediocre at best! If you have a look at the form table (last 6 games) as it stands most the sides we still have to play are up there (Staines, H&R, Bath, St Albans, Dover etc) So it isn't going to be an easy run in. H&R are only just above us on from tho'. Form at 03/03: p team w d l gd pts 1 Newport County 5 1 0 15 16 2 Staines Town 5 0 1 6 15 3 Bath City 4 2 0 6 14 4 St Albans City 4 1 1 3 13 5 Thurrock 3 2 1 8 11 6 Dover Athletic 3 2 1 5 11 7 Chelmsford City 3 2 1 4 11 8 Eastleigh 3 1 2 -6 10 9 Welling United 2 3 1 7 9 10 Havant & Waterloo 2 3 1 2 9 11 Hampton & Richmnd 2 3 1 -2 9 12 Braintree Town 2 2 2 0 8 13 Basingstoke Town 2 1 3 2 7 14 Worcester City 2 1 3 -4 7 15 Dorchester Town 1 3 2 0 6 16 Bromley 1 3 2 -1 6 17 Maidenhead United 1 1 4 -1 4 18 Weston-S-Mare 0 4 2 -2 4 19 Woking 1 1 4 -6 4 20 Lewes 0 3 3 -5 3 21 Bishop's Stortford 1 0 5 -7 3 22 Weymouth 0 1 5 -15 1

If Hampton & Richmond beat us tomorrow then their away points would double their home tally! I think however as they are near us in the table we should be looking to win this one especially with home advantage.

Sounds like overall we didn't deserve a win.
But yet another game, the 3rd this season, lost via a penalty to the oppo', by one goal. And the ref.sounded card-happy. Have a hunch, they won't be the most popular?

Not very good considering they played 50 minutes with a centre back in goal

A frustrating game with a very poor referee who thought everyone came to see him instead of the game, in my opinion he was poor for both teams. However we cant blame it all on him as we didn't test their makeshift keeper no where near enough, in my opinion we didn't deserve to loose but them maybe we didn't deserve to win either. However apart from Lewes earning a draw at Basingstoke results on a whole went our way at the bottom.

We should have had two penalties. Talking to their 'keeper after the game (Deano and what a bloody nice fella he was too, great craic!) he was sh**ing himself because he thought we should have had two penalties. He couldn't believe we only had 2 shots in anger whilst he was in goal fora full hour and how no one challenged him on crosses. He was 'lightly' marked by McGregor on 2 corners and he was worried sick about being marked at corners. You may have noticed as soon as anyone came near him he was shouting for the ref to help him out. He also agreed that the ref didn't have a clue too. He thought we should have had McGregor and Elvins off but they should have had their number 8 off too!

Do we attract bad refereeing? Another thing he said was that we give the ref more stick than a lot of sides do. Not just off the pitch but on it too. They have been told to take it easy on Ref's because they feel they get more 50/50 decisions by keeping their language and bad feeling to the ref at a minimum. Because we gave the ref so much grief , rightly so he agreed, but you keep it to a minimum. We didn't get the 2 pens and he gave H&R one. Altho' neither of us could see if it was or not at the time so can't comment, he asked the player involved for H&R and said he was touched but made the most of it. (Can't blame him for that) We both agreed that the ref had no control on the game and that is why tempers flared at the end.
Could make a thread on the subject of Refs alone! We have had some rank bad one's at the Lane this year! Oh! And the ref didn't see the incident with Elvins either. The woman assistant said she saw it and was sent off purely on her say so (In my opinion she was right too!)

With apologies to the likes of Croc, most refs.are now sh*t, but know from serious Sunday Lge. you're better off never passing comment which is all well and good, but f*cking frustrating, especially when the majority are now so poor.

It is frustrating but I can count on one hand the number of decisions changed from an argument with a ref (maybe the odd occasion when the assistant gets involved). So except the decision and get on with it 'should' be the attitude.... yeah as if!

THe lady lino certainly had better legs than the other male one. Probably had better tits as well, but the other lino had a much nicer cock! Blimey, are we still in a time when a female lino gets a compliment on her legs over a male counterpart!
