Carl, the jury's out.
But the very best of luck to the lads.

Yeah right.
More seriously looking at BT's away record, 70% of their away CS games have been draws, so guess they would settle for much the same. Though in recent times WCFC have managed rather less CS home draws, so implies another tight game?

I for one would settle for a draw against a top club like Braintree. Not sure my nerves would take going 2 down to pull back 3 again.

1-1 already. Mingle for them on 12. Farrell equalizes on 17.

1-1 HT.
Sounds like City making Braintree scrap to keep it level?

Emery puts City 2-1 on 49.
City sound as if on top, but it's goals that count. Another for them could do it?
2-2 on yellow cards to date.

Calver levels for them on 76. Interesting to see how it pans out for the last 15.

Sounds a harsh scoreline. Darrell, you mocked the gods. Still a win & defeat better than 2 draws. Have to get something from Havant now, as presume we can write off the Newport game? And focus on that 6-pointer at Lewes.

I know, I was thinking 4 would be acceptable at 2-2!!!
I take full blame.

from where i was standing the free kick that led to the goal was not a free kick! its ok for the officals they can go home with there money and relax , while we lose a valuable point which could see us go down

Yet another match dominated not by football, but by an attention-seeker with a whistle. The result ultimately decided by one of his - many - dubious decisions. Yet we deserved at least a point, and a home win wouldn't have been unjustified.
Even with the ref's chosen result, the game was great to witness. The change in attitude at City in just a few weeks is awesome to behold. The atmosphere at SGL has changed completely - home fans even singing at one point. And Alfie Carter, what a superb game he had!
One thing is now very clear, with King Carl in control, if we do go down (and I don't think we will), we will go down fighting to the bitter end.

I blame myself. I wasn't concentrating for the last 15 mins. When their second went in I was thinking about Fixture poster logistics and then a sneaky Londoner asked me for directions back to the M5, and their winner flew in.

A disapointing result because of a poor referee.
But good game to watch because of the effort and spirit the team give nowadays.

A slow start for ten minutes, followed by an hour of tremendous effort, commitment and, more than a little FOOTBALL, ending with 20 minutes where the lads just ran out of steam. Full credit to Braintree, who really pushed on for the three points after they levelled. Alfie, as mentioned above, was fantastic, and I was really impressed with Josh Emery too, lovely first touch and a crisp finish into the corner. A sad end, but no reason to be disheartened - Up The City!

I remember in December sometime when someone berated Dryden, from the terraces, for putting Alfie upfront because he was quite clearly a defender being played out of position.

Not really! I hear dumb comments like that, at the Lane, all the time.

Have to agree with people that i thought we edged it last night and to lose in injury time was very hard to take. Hopefully we might have one or two decent ref's down the lane soon, i think we're due one!!

Hey Henderson, your first comment Alfie will get a hat trick - he should have got one! Thriugh one on one and shinned it wide in the first half then with minutes left hit it at the keeper for a corner which I thought he would bury! Numerous other chances too but didnt he look lively! Crap referee! loved his whistle. The free kick for the third goal was not a free kick, he was just looking to book Clyde. Every game is a big game now we have played the same number of games as Lewes an only 2 points in front. Think we had to win to keep Richmond realistically in our sights. The away trip to Lewes is going to be a big one now! Didn't think there were 500 in looked less than that, dissappointing that it wasn't more for a game against 2nd in league.

Not really! I hear dumb comments like that, at the Lane, all the time. Like "Offside Ref!!!" from someone shouting from behind the goal Although one of those shouting that has tried to justify it by suggesting that it is easier to tell if a guy is offside from behind the goal rather than being in line with the play. football fans, don't you just love em??

Afraid the loss stemmed from having to play Mark Clyde twice when he is struggling as witnessed by his poor clearance that struck their bloke which rollled loose he could not tackle or trip him as his legs had gone but the bloke went down easier than Katie Price with the lino ignoring him as he dived! Apparently scored in 4th minute of added time when there were only 3 to be added and no stoppages in that time in fact think ball was in play virtually all the time!

minimum of 3 minutes! So if the ref wants t ocarry on into the 4th or 5th added minute, he can.

Once again this was a spirited performance and enjoyable to watch.
I really didn't think we would lose this until they had their 94th minute free kick...then I got that sense of impending doom.
Lots of plus points to be taken away: -
(a) Josh Emery, who actually looks like he can strike a ball hard and accurately (b) Mark Clyde, he was everywhere. (c) Alfie Carter was a constant threat.
Well done to Niels for his work (I believe) on the match fixture posters. My copy has been placed on the works notice board on which I have added a plea to all the numerous ex-city supporters to get behind the team again.
I'm hoping to bring one or two colleagues to Monday's game. If city maintain the performance and entertainment value of the last three home games they might be tempted to visit more often (failing that I might try the drugs in the coffee routine).
