..it is for the winners, they won 3-2 with the winner coming in the last minute.

Typical of their luck. Assuming our wretched away record, best wishes to Carshalton for the next round.

Steve Burr takes charge at Aggborough = he applied for the City job when RD was appointed. He's done a sound job at Stalybridge - a man bristling with non league pedigree, which is what you want. I think Kiddy have made a sound choice.

Yes, a good choice of manager I think, although you never can tell, but Burr is non-league through and through and he can manage! He'll need to be given time, and with Kiddy where they are in the league, he's got to be looking at a possible promotion!

And today he's bitten the dust: what are the Kidderminster board thinking about? Seventh in the league and still in the FA Cup: they must be mad!
Just shows how little time managers (however successful) are given and what boards of directors know about football management. There are 24 teams in their league and only two of them can gain promotion. Sacking your (very good) manager in January ain't what I'd call a recipe for success.

He wasn't sacked, they would have has to have paid a big sum to pay him off. I suspect he will take charge elsewhere soon, possibly Northampton Town who for a time had Kevin Wilkin as number 1 to take over according to the bookies

The only Scotsman that can claim to have played for Rangers and managed Celtic - Stafford and Stalybridge variety that is!

Well, Verner, according to Kiddy's chairman, he didn't resign: I call that a sacking. If I was Steve Burr (or a Harriers supporter for that matter) I'd be hopping mad.

Tim, when I posted I hadn't realised the chairman had given an interview on BBC H&W and had basically said he was sacked. Further reading it seems according to Harriers Chatter that Steve Burr has been talking to Northampton behind the clubs back..but it's all speculation.

Burr went for the Forest Green job a few weeks back but apparently didnt fancy it as he thought the people running them were clueless ?? but i suppose you could say that of a lot of clubs !! cant have done morale much good knowing your manager is on the look out for another job

That's possibly not quite correct FGR approached him above board & officially He had a meeting with them & turned down whatever offer they put on the table I really don't understand the "you have to be 100% loyal to your club" & not move on unless you are told to: AND I would include all football personnel including players in this If you work for any company, at any level, for any length of service; surely you owe it to yourself & your family to better yourself if it's possible In what other industry other than sport would you be thought badly of for accepting a much better deal for doing the same job !!!!

without naming names i was told this by someone shall we say who is very close to Burr, the point i was making was that it cant be good for team morale knowing your manager is willing to jump ship mid season ??

Surely any manager would if the offer was good enough? There is a very old maxim - "Every man has his price."
